All the talk on the BBC website about how Celtic are doing all the right things in attack but just cant find the net

Talking about how many chances they have created, how good they were against Real...Ange talking about how he wont change his setup, and that he would rather be in a situation where Celtic are creating chances, rather than struggling to create them.

All good and well....but finally Pat Bonner starts talking a bit of sense and states the obvious.

We all know Celtic will create chances, but they may well lose a goal at a critical time because of the way they setup

Absolutely spot on sir...and seeing that very attacking lineup, for me his point is even more relevant.

They may, Stevie. But he's a fundamentalist. Be confident, practice the moves and sooner or later the moves will be at the required speed and the finishing will click which all brings more confidence and a virtuous cycle. Fans are entertained, players feel good at their work & are psychologically positive. There really is little joy watching Waltinachio, Mourinho, Conte even if results are better. A difficult balance.

But surely there is an argument that you don't need to be quite as aggressive as you have been, or setup quite as top heavy as you are tonight?

There is a grey area there that Celtic could look to find a bit more of a balance in?

Nah...I'm all in now. Let's keep it going and see where it leads.

I'll judge him more harshly next year if we have the same outcome.

If we had set to be more defensive we might have one point more.

If we get scudded tonight by a reasonably well matched team he might need a rethink

Having said that, I'm surprised at this team selection.

BUt looking at the bench MAgs, who would you have in? It seems the 11 with the greatest potential ability, no? How it actually works out on the park of course if the unexpected.

Mooy for me. Or Mccarthy on anybody with an ounce of defensive nous.

Certainly does look very attacking. Say what you want about Ange but he is true to his word. The line up for me does need a defensive option in there with two high pressing full backs. But without Calmac, I don’t think anyone apart from MOR can play that role which maybe forces him into this lineup?

Win this then a win at the Bernabeu is all that’s required.

I do think you will win tonight, deserved more out of it in Poland but I wish you nothing but pain.

Have Giakoumakis and Kyogo ever played together?
Would think Ange would at least have tried it to see if/how it would work.
