Yeah but that’s because you dismiss pretty much every team outside of about two in England.

In the real world, how teams are looking right now doesn’t tell us much about how things will look come the ko stages of the Europa.

We’ve twice failed to win against teams we should ‘expect’ to beat, and those were teams that didn’t have the same potential upside as some of the teams that look like dropping into the Europa this season.

If it were to be grouped into tiers of elite clubs at the moment it would be

Tier A

Real Madrid
Bayern Munich
Man Utd
Barcelona
Liverpool
Chelsea
Man City
Arsenal
Tottenham
PSG

Tier B

Milan
Atletico
Juve
Ajax
Inter
Newcastle
Porto

Tier C

Napoli
Benfica
Leicester
Everton
Roma
West Ham
Sevilla
Lyon

Tier D

Wolves
Atalanta
Celtic
Aston Villa
Nottingham
Red Bull
Valencia
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m not sure Newcastle are more elite than most of the teams you’ve got below them, tbh.., particularly Benfica Roma Napoli Sevilla etc

Stewart Greacen played once for Dundee and that was as a trialist. Must have been one hell of a game!

They are the richest team in the world. They should arguably be in Tier A, certainly after this season. The top 2 tiers should realistically be the 20 PL teams plus Bayern and Real Madrid but the boomers would kick off when seeing the truth and suggest that some nobodies like Ajax should be in there.

Anyway, given time I think Allegri will turin it around at Juventus.

Nobodies like Ajax? You must be very young or have no idea of football history!

They play in a league where the standard is of League One in England. The top half of the Championship would beat them easily. I was going to put a few deserving Championship teams in there ahead of the likes of Ajax as they are basically PL teams every other year so are obviously bigger than a club from a joke league, but again yeah boomers kicking off as expected.

Juve are skint, they want to change manager but can't.

Also the Cuadrado incident which lead to a Benfica penalty was a joke, there is no chance that should have been given.

That a Chelsea flop now well into his 30s plays for Juve is a sign of how far they have fallen.

In the first place please explain the term "boomers" as the way it is used it sounds derogatory.
Secondly, Ajax were once the top team in Europe and had a not-too-bad guy playing for them called Johan Cruyff who at the time was acclaimed as the most skillful player in Europe and the first to execute what is now known as the "Cruyff Turn".

Ajax are maybe about the level of Fulham. A PL yoyo team so essentially a top half Championship team, at best.

Fulham/Ajax combined XI:

-----------------Leno--------------
Robinson----Ream-----Timber----Reid
---------Paulinha-----------------Klaassen
Willian----------Pereira---------Tadic
----------------Mitrovic---------------

So only 3 Ajax players got into the Fulham/Ajax combined XI. Maybe I was giving Ajax more credit than they deserve.

Barcelona are still competing for the title in their league. To be considered a truly elite team you cannot be languishing outside the top 4 in your league whilst also not competing in the CL. One or the other is fine as you put a big effort into a title race etc. At the moment Juve are not doing either. On second thoughts have added Chelsea as they now do it consistently.

Real Madrid
Bayern
Man Utd
Barcelona (debatable)
Chelsea (debatable)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Barcelona are coming second in a two horse race. That’s last place “Stewart”.

Although Liverpool are coming eighth in their two horse race. Which is really minus 6th, behind six dead horses.

For pure skill there is only one player who I would rate above Cruyff and to me remains the best ever. Any guesses?

Think he means in an old timey sense like carrying a pint and a pie on the pitch whilst also playing football.

The most skilful I've seen was Dimitar, I love that name.
But the best player I've seen was George.
