We all know it is not just about how you are playing, but just as important ( or favorable ) when you play teams.
Without sounding bias, I am beginning to wonder just how many more teams in the bottom half of he table Arsenal have left to play, given they seem to play one of them every week.
As Sandy has said, just after a poor display and loss in midweek, who wouldn't want the bottom ( and worse ) team in the PL, at home, next up ?
The way the fixtures have been planned ( and yeah, they are planned by the FA ) Arsenal continue to play easy game after easy game right up until January. Next up.....
Wolves ( a ) they are are 19th and so 2nd worst team in the PL.
Chelsea ( a) probably the nearest thing to hard, but how bad were Chelsea over the weekend ? again, nice time to play them.
Brighton ( a ) yeah Brighton can play well, but ultimately won't finish in the top 8.
West Ham ( h ) they are 13th, so yet another bottom 6/7 team.
That takes them ( without raising a sweat ) up to the 3rd January.
Factor in a Europa group made up of teams I have already forgotten their names, coupled with the FA, once again bending over for them with the postponed City game ( a loss pushed back to god knows when ) and a blinding inconsistency when compared with how we were treated last season when we actually had a genuine reason for not being able to fulfill a fixture ( you know, Covid when events with large crowds were illegal ) and you start to get a feel for how easy it all has been for Arsenal.
The only saving grace is, given they have only played one of the recognised 'big 7' - I include Newcastle in this now - away from home so far, which they lost, all these games still have to be played in the new year. So let's see how far they fall away when those games happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, we drew with Chelsea (sixth) and West Ham, and squeezed out a 0-1 win against Brighton (eighth) so, I’d argue they are tough fixtures.
They’ve also played Liverpool (ninth) us (third), Fulham (seventh), Palace (tenth) and United (fourth) - winning all of them other than United.
So, after 16 league games that’s seven of the top 10 played, of which they can only play nine, and city was postponed. So they’re pretty much par for the course, no?
Time people start to accept Arsenal are the real deal this season, unfortunately.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All at home mate, other than United, which they lost. And I never get this nonsense about playing top half teams. Every knows that Liverpool are a top half team, and teams like Fulham and Brighton are not. It`s when you play teams, sometimes good teams can be horribly out of form, and so called poor teams can be on form.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone has to play everyone. This notion that some teams have had easier starts is utter nonsense. In fact, it's embarrassing. Come the end of the season no one has ever blamed their final league position based on their run of fixtures.
Arsenal are doing well at the moment, we just need to accept it. And why do you even care Sandy? You've told us all that we'll comfortably finish above Arsenal come the end of the season so none of this really matters does it? Maybe we should be more worried that we made an absolute meal out of beating the footballing powerhouse that is Bournemouth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or Arsenal failing to beat the powerhouse team Southampton.
You can dress it up how you like, but Arsenal have had the easiest start possible. Southampton, Forest and next up Wolves. Does not get any easier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your first line contradicts your point though. You say they've had an easy start but didn't beat Southhampton. I personally don't think there is any such thing as an easy game in the Prem. Anyone can beat anyone on their day so crying about who has the easiest fixture list is a waste of time. It means nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs have only lost to top five teams, they have beaten all of the so called lesser teams, so there are obviously a lot of very easy teams in the Prem, mostly the teams Arsenal have faced.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have lost and will possibly lose AWAY to the traditional Top 6 teams so what if we take care of the east games as you say.
Look at it this way you will probably lose against Liverpool at home this weekend, we didn’t. Think Chelsea, United and Westham will also take points at your gaff. They won’t at ours but you will still complain all season until game 38.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Easy games like Southampton?

You do realise up until the North London Derby the average league position for your opponent was 14th and ours was 11th so this talk of us having an easier run is just a myth. Even if it was true the same logic could be applied to your home fixtures, you had played no one until you came up against a half decent side in Newcastle and you lost.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
These excuses about our fixture list and flat track bully were used last season until we admittedly lost our way at the end.
We probably wont win at Chelsea but we wont stink the gaff like Spurs did. Only look at how they were humiliated at Old Trafford compared to our performance to see the difference in both teams.
But this old geezer will bang on about the fixtures until he gets into a coma.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
LOL you lost ar Old Trafford, you didn't get any points, just like Spurs.
Another tough week looms for Spurs

Marseilles are not a top team. They are decent, but they've lost their two matches with Frankfurt. And we beat them at WHL. We can get a point tomorrow.
