we looked in for an absolute drubbing with how we started vs how they started. dominated them from 10 mins on, tired a bit at the end.

i checked at 1-1 everton had like 20 % possession at home to a facking newly promoted club from the champs.

Grav again was so impressive. Really making me eat humble pie playing that role.

Yeah Grav really grew into that game. Him, Gakpo and Konate were the stand out performances tonight.

was u not watching the game or sumin? it took us a while, every time they atked looked like scoring, it was more than 3 mins. had numerous warnings before they even scored however early it was. and our shape looked off long enough after too. and until we scored a set piece they were getting back quite well in numbers quickly too. looked up for it and we looked to have issues. wasnt just 3 minutes. though we were playing relatively alright and just grew into total domination. lot of good performances from numerous players. some iffy ones too though. can see why he picks the same players though, pressing intelligence was clear to see and clear to see it become non existent with changes.

Pleased for Gakpo, he’s a very good footballer and he showed it at the Euros. First start this season on that left and he did really well. Not the fastest player but he’s got good end product and composure when he gets in those dangerous positions. Much better player than Nunez in my opinion.

No, you declared we were going to get battered after 3 mins. They made a fast start sure, but actually only had one shot in the first half. Luckily we didn’t panic and just stuck to our game plan and showed we were far better than them.

Konate covering Trent was brilliant with Grav dropping into CB and VVD shuffling over. Exact example to protect our weakest defender. I liked it and means we should concede less

at the time it looked the case, also said we would lose the forest game when elanga and cho were on. get a feel for the game at the time. obv things can change, luckily for us we turned it around. i comment on a live thread at the time on how its looking how im feeling. not always gonna be right or always wrong.

I don’t think there’s much point in saying much at that stage, it’s way too early to make a balanced call on how the game is going to go. It’s not exactly unknown for the home team to make a fast start in a European game, is it?

And it’s hardly unreasonable or particularly insulting to say that you overreact quite often, is it?

whys that funny? it wasnt e were standing off a lot uncertain opening 20 mins or so? we grew into the game... we looked scared of them on the counter and justifiably too tbf since they cut us open with ease a few times in the opening 3 mins.
