It’s definitely a mental thing with Liverpool.

Playing Madrid over the years, even in our good spell/era and then schooling us. Players don’t believe they can beat them.

Mentally shattered from such a long slog last season playing every game, coming so close but not winning the big 2 trophies.

And we have always been an emotional team under an emotional manager. Pressing and intensity was our middle name, legs have gone, same midfield pretty much for 5 years. So so frustrating.

In at half time level
Came out second half…..collapsed

At least we had the excuse of having to take off our best centre half just before half time and having to pitch in an 18yr old

He looks capable at RB but not enough at CB, reminds me of Lovern… Can have up to 5 games where he plays great but there’s always at least a couple of costly mistakes

Every game gomez has moments where he gives a team a chance. Against the best teams like napoli and real

A combination of some poor errors defensively, sometimes just not doing enough and Real being sickeningly clinical.

Got to give Real some credit here, for 20 mins in the second half they were exceptional.

But equally we have to manage certain situations better.

This will be 3 defeats for the English sides in Europe so far. Just shows the premier league isn’t as good as we think, competitive but no where near the level it was last season or seasons before.

Worst game I’ve seen for a very long time. Probably since Gerard’s last game for us.

Trent has definitely bulked up too much. Why? I have idea, lost that yard of pace, similar to Salah.
