Very good from us today.
Now the boring international break and praying no one comes back injured
Not a bad performance in all honesty. Nunez was great first half and definitely deserved a goal. I still think we need a number 6 and a CB given that Kew can’t rely on Konate and I think Gomez and Matip are not quite starting XI standard.
Up to second now. Which is nice.
Solid victory, very good Anfield trip today. Just wish we could produce these away from home.
big difference was actually being up for the fight and putting balls in asking questions. Thats how you break down teams who park the bus. Get the ball in the box and be up for the fight to win the 2nd balls and midfield battle and keep them penned in sticking balls into the box. With the height in our team even if they defend it well theyll concede corners etc which we should be a huge threat at.
No boost from admin though
Manchester City XI: Ederson, Walker, Ruben Dias, Akanji, Ake, Rodri, Foden, Alvarez, Bernardo Silva, Doku, Haaland.
Subs: Ortega, Carson, Phillips, Stones, Gomez, Gvardiol, Bobb, Lewis.
Jurgen Klopp makes two alterations to the Liverpool side that defeated Brentford 3-0 at Anfield.
Alexis Mac Allister returns from suspension, while Curtis Jones is also included after recovering from a thigh problem.
Wataru Endo and Cody Gakpo drop to the bench.
Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Salah, Nunez, Jota.
Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Endo, Konate, Diaz, Gakpo, Elliott, Gravenberch, Quansah.
Konate was injured then. Big game for Matip.
One day I’ll get to see Salah, Nunez and Diaz start a game for us again. That will be a good day.
Well, this isn’t going to end 0-0… Their front line is pretty scary…
Hoping we can come away with something but I fear we will be overrun in midfield and Macallister will be targeted again.

Trent can't be inverting today
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He can invert but needs to pick the times to do it more wisely. Probably shouldn't do it all first ten minutes, see how the game pans out. City will have most of the possession anyway so the chances for TAA to invert will be far fewer.
But I don't think our approach will change. They need to be worried about our attack also.
We need to control their half space runs and the cutbacks. That's a trademark attacking pattern of City.
Poor Bench for City. No attacking players. Liverpool's much stronger.
Worried about Trent and Doku
