Jones would have been moved on a couple of years ago if he wasn’t scouse, let’s be honest. Just not good enough I’m afraid.
Better performance today and something to build on. Hopefully we can get a midfielder in Jan.
We have played with a double pivot this season. Konrad facking Laimer is a better player than facking headless chicken Elliott.
Ok move on.
You talk so much sh!t about Elliott but when I go and check there is very little to back it up. He makes tackles every game and rarely loses the ball but you feel you can call him a headless chicken whilst making Laimer, a 2 bob player in the third rate league, the next Zidane.
It's quite funny really.
You really need to check your facking eyes or needs to go to Specsavers. Elliott and tackling? You don't have any stats to back that up.
He makes 1.25 tackles per 90 minutes which is 15% and makes 0.51 interception per 90 minutes which is 14%.
Awful statistics for a midfielder if you want to control the midfield.
D Rice!! God no...nowhere near good enough for us.
15% and 14% of what?
I said he makes tackles every game. He wasn't dispossessed once today and has a 83.3% pass success rate across the season.
You can lament how much he suit playing next to Trent as much as you like, it has some merit, but he certainly is not a headless chicken. It really is a quite silly thing to say. Do you honestly think someone like Klopp would start him every week if he was?
I'd stick to generic tactics statements if I were you.
In the league Harvey Elliott has been dribbled past the most for #LFC (9) and has won just 18.2% of his attempted tackles. I have provided enough stats to back up my argument.
Ok move on with this discussion.

I'm shocked.
Harvey elliot has actually made a tackle????
Now the lad is a nice enough young lad and he works hard but he is simply not a midfielder. He never actually gets close just run up to guys then stops and let's them pass or dribble. I'd be shocked he's done more than make an interception frankly.
But as bad as Elliott is (and at rw in 442 he's not bad at all) thaigo is a disaster zone.
Thaigo was out of the line half pressing today then trotted back as spurs ran in and kane scored. He cannot get back but really doesn't try too hard either.
People can defend young Harvey all they like, he has a clear issue with the physicality of the game.
The thing is. How many did you see today hit a spurs player as they got the ball? Very very few. Against napoli milner hit every one of them and his aggression got us through the game.
Spurs players grabbed our lads the second we got passed and pro fouled amd got away with it. The prem is being reffed like it'd the 80s in terms of allowing stuff and we are not at the races.
There's not enough aggression in our players.

No, you don't get to decide and unfortunately your reputation goes before you more than a bit/
Maybe it's a language thing but describing him as a headless chicken is daft.
I know he’s not a CM signing but the PSV director said this before…
'Would they be a good place to send Cody Gakpo? Yes.' PSV sporting director Marcel Brands on Liverpool.
Wonder if there’s anything in it or just got asked a innocent question

Desperate to sell to get cash in is what that is.
People are also so in love with thiago for some aspects of his game there really ignore the fact he cannot get back at all.
Whatever about young Harvey lashing round and not getting a foot in, thiago is trotting back after half pressing.
Look at spurs goal today. Just a few hards out of the back of 4 not closing down and the ball is in behind him and he can't get near kulu.
Same v arsenal minute 1 btw. Lashes uo and trots back and ball is in his space and channel
For me thaigo is a home player v Park the bus types and Europe games only.
Again the millstones of ox and keita come home to roost.
Cannot wait to see thale back of those two so we can put thiago and Elliott in better positions to do their thing with proper support, and yeah that means Elliott at rw or it's either or not both in a.midfield 3.

I would rather go for Murduk from Shaktar who can play both wings.
I enjoyed reading those posts, have to agree about Thiago, a very fine baller but as for helping with the press? I’m not so sure. He’s a good tackler but if he has to run back to make a challenge he’s way off the pace.
Harvey Elliott is similar, very skilful and aware going forward but is he a player who wins the ball back for the press? Not in my view. Even Coutinho when he was playing out wide would get inside and make tackles.
Adding that to Hendo & Fabinho who can’t get back to the intense levels of a season or two ago and Milner almost at the end of his career along with Keita’s decline into permanent injury lister and there’s an obvious problem.
I’d also mention Klopps almost fanatical belief in his squad which sometimes clouds his judgment and FSG’s ever present sell to buy strategy which is going to make renewing the squad almost impossible.
I can’t see top four this season and I’m worried about the summer because we need a squad overhaul on the back of what’s going to be a season of under achievement.
I think it's injuries and recovery/rest period that's more a factor than age. A team can't go from reaching all possible finals, winning two cups, missing out on league by a point - to being too old for compete for anything. These players have played games that should have been occupied by Ox, Keita, Jones etc. As a result Hendo, Fab , Thiago have prob been overplayed, overworked.
