Nothing is locked at all. The World Cup will mess some teams up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Only one team in PL history haven't gone on to win the league in Arsenal's position. Ironically that was Newcastle. I don't think they will win it either but they will get 2nd now unless they implode and their group looks a strong one and unlikely to do that.

And City are obviously not finishing outside the top 2.

Again. Don’t rule out the damage the World Cup may do.

I'm worried about us.

Casemiro Antony Martinez Eriksen Varane Fred etc.

We will have to see which teams go the distance to really know but I suspect we might not be very lucky with ours.

I would say it's a fair possibility now. Like when Leicester needed teams having off seasons to help them on their way it would be a bit the same for Newcastle with Chelsea, United, Liverpool, and us all showing enough inconsistent form to take advantage. Liverpool may have beaten us today but they still look way off the team they were, although Salah is back to his best now.

There was an article on here a month or so ago about Newcastle “arriving” at the top table, I thought they’d finish 6th this season and be top four in three years.

They seem to be accelerating through the gears faster than City did from a similar position and a similar rate to Blackburn after Walker bought them (4th, 2nd, 1st in three seasons).

According to The Athletic they have their valuation on players and are willing to walk away and pursue other targets of teams start extorting them.

They have a “no k*obheads policy”, not moving for players who come with baggage or a bad attitude, they essentially operate in the opposite way we have for a decade…

If Newcastle get top four, it will only show how rubbish the Prem has become. They have world beaters like Willock, Burns, Shelvy, Wilson, Trippier, Longstaff, etc so they may make it. Very average bunch of players that are punching above their weight and taking advantage of a very poor Prem.

I watched them vs Southampton yesterday and the only thing that was far better from Newcastle was the finishing. Saints missed a couple of sitters at 1-0.

Newcastle are doing well but I’d be surprised if they sustained top 4 form.

It's a team game, and they seem to be one.
