Board about to make another big mistake

So this is what it was like as a non-fan looking in at Celtic during Lennon's last season.

Be hilarious is you kept him on for the season and he limped over the line.

Fair points but what do you think is actually going on because its a complete mystery to me.

Do they actually believe that he's the right man for the job or is there more to it.

Difference being that most Celtic fans started that season with a sense of utter dread. We knew the club had made a huge mistake.
Rangers fans were probably the most positive they had been for a long time.
As soon as mcgregor signed on and it was clear that Davis and Arfield were staying in, it was fairly obvious how it would turn out.

Both seasons are very good examples of what happens when there's a disconnect between the board and the fans.

I get that he's done well at Livingston but if that caller was even slightly serious, he needs to lower his dosage immediately. Absolutely mental thinking.

I also wonder why we as fans pick out assistant managers. Even if it was Martindale and I hope to whatever deity you could believe in that isn't, I'd think he might want a say in his assistant manager.

Not really sure! Our board don't seem keen on scrutiny from supporters, not particularly open to the media, and I don't rate the quality of their decision-making. Who knows what they're thinking. I can just see days being lost, points being forfeited, when the supporters are calling for immediate action

Cant blame the manager when he wasnt backed.

You sold your best players in the summer and then he got you to the champions league and you bought no one.

Thats not the managers fault that is.

I don't think any board other than fan ownership really like any scrutiny from fans and would quite like to keep things in house as much as they can.

To me it seems the intention was always get to January and hope to still be in contention and see what loans etc we could add to push on. This is a bit out the window now.

The World Cup changes things quite a bit I'd say. A new manager coming in now will have in effect a pre-season to work with the players on fitness, tactics, ideas etc and will be able to identify who is good and who is Kent, Morelos, Barisic, Lundstrum etc ahead of the January transfer window.

If you keep Gio and then in January a few bad results and then decide to let him go you have lost that opportunity.

I expect us to struggle more v Motherwell than you will ve Hearts. That may change your boards thinking

would take something special for rangers to win the league this season based on how they currently shape up.

i think a few players were just on the top of their game last year, the momentum to get to that final, absolutely buzzing.

Taverniers a phish defender, the state of him and lundrstram for st johnstones opener.

great cross, great at set piecs, but his defensive game is rotten.

barasic for the second - never learns does eh?

also think mcgregor might need psychiatric treatment.

It's amazing what poor form can do. Remember when we were struggling and the Lennon supporters were all blaming the backroom staff and questinging the toxicity of John Kennedy.

It seems only in crisis when fans are split on the manager does the staff ever become an issue

For every Lenny there’s one that turns it around tbf. Look at Rodgers - he was dead man walking now they’re playing as well as anyone. That’s what they will be hoping because a new man is a risk too that it doesn’t improve and they’ve spunked on severance, hiring and still need 12+new players.

It still annoys me. For a guy that could be hard nosed when he wanted and had folk reporting to him daily on media coverage mainstream and social, Lawwell completely fckd up and misjudged. The fan reaction was no surprise.

a massive error in judgement which ultimately cost us 9.

going from rodgers to that. honestly man.

Well, you've got part of your wish come true - you've got a friendly arranged against Leverkusen on 10th December.

Chance to see what Gio's been working on during the WC.
