5 stars Marshian. Absolutely agree.

He started the season on fire. Got clothes-lined
by that tw4 t Pickford and had to fight through that
shoulder injury, to get back to now.

He's done brilliant. I thought at the start of the
season that he fit Marsch's system so much better
than Bamford (Bamford fit Bielsa's system - which
is not Marsch's). He's now showing it. I sat there
today seriously thinking do we need to splash cash
in January for a new forward after all?

We could take that money and get that LB.

Rod looks more and more like the player we thought
we were getting. And with the addition of Cry (how
long will Jack be on the bench now?) and Gnonto
(such a crafty and clever player), Greenwood,
Perkins, Joffy, and Joseph, we might be good enough.

Just hope Rod stays fit so we can keep benefitting.

And there were no bonehead back passes today.
Which is all he needed to cut out. Looks like he has.

Yeah I agree. He has been played out of position his whole time here basically. Now we see he can hit the net. I don’t understand the problem most have with him. Yes he makes mistakes, and maybe doesn’t seen to be working as hard as others, but if he scores every game, that’s all you want from a striker? That will give you 38 goals a season 😊….
Our options up front seem to be expanding nicely….Summerville looks great, Gnonto given opportunity….Joffy is there and let’s just agree to send Bamford to the glue factory.

I honestly don’t see how Bamford gets a sniff now - he is way down the pecking order now, even if by some miracle he is fit for a game again.

Maybe do a swap with Bournemouth... Bamford for one of their big lads up front.
Rodrigo on course for 20 goals this season if he stays fit... backed up with great service and contribution from Summerville and Gnonto to me says we have a strong enough forward line to win another 10 games at least and finish about 12th to 14th.

I don’t think any Premier League team would touch Bamford - injury prone, hasn’t scored a goal for years it seems.

posted on 12/11/22

And believe me, I don’t have a grudge against Bamford at all. But during our Championship season when we failed to make it up, he was awful. He had a good season when we got back in the Premier
league….but then it’s though we hung our hats on him coming back from injury and saving us last season….never happened…and this year he has been woeful when on the field. Nice guy seemingly but he just can’t play striker very well.

If Bournemouth appoint MB I genuinely think there is a chance Bamford and a few other out of form Leeds players could find their way to the cherries.
We will see... interesting final game of the season sees a potential Franky boy v Marcello's new side winner stays up scenario although I think Bournemouth as well as ourselves will be safe by then.

No Prem team would have him at this point. He's glass.
And making way too much money for what he gives.

I reckon once he's fit (which may well be the New Year),
he'll hang around with us. Then he'll be back in the
Championship. Within two seasons, he'll be a bench
warmer in that division (if he stays fit) and quite possibly
in League One to round out his playing days.

The best of Bamford was seen during the covid lock out.

I hope you're right Macca. Would take a ton of money
off of our shoulders. And I bet if anyone can revive
his career (even if short term) it'd be Messiah.

His penalty miss put me over the edge with him…
And who gets injured celebrating a goal and taking a penalty in training? It’s comedy stuff.

Swap Bamford for Salanke and Firpo for Tavenier 😏

Bamford is 29.

He will be more than happy to see out his contract for every single penny.

And let's be honest, he should, football is a short career and any player who gets a big contract should get all they can

He might be 29 per the calendar Matty but,
his body is more like a 36 year old. Toast.

Very true. Any Player has to maximise his potential. Bamford has certainly done that.

I agree about getting what you can as a player while you
can, right up to the point that it's my club getting sh4fted.
Which is exactly what Bamford is doing to us.

Not personally. I know he's a good bloke. This is a cold
hearted business. Right up until that stance is fcking
your own team over. High wages for an ineffective player
really kill a team (see JKA). Let's face it, there's no room
for sentiment.

He was good three seasons ago. Sadly, he's now
basically a wellfare case riding the medical table and
the psychiatrist's couch.

First chink for me was the interview at Brentford when he missed a sitter and commented that the younger players need to step up. Second was the penalty, he look disheveled and low on confidence before he took it. Third was something I thought of, but someone on FB pointed it out…his celebration after Summerville scored at Liverpool was non existent and when you compare that to Rodrigo being unhappy getting subbed against Bournemouth, but racing on the field and celebrating Summerville’s winner shows it may be more about him than the team…hope not, but that’s what I see.

Something's not quite right with Bamford.

I noticed that too Steross. But I don’t think it’s an intentional slight on any of the other players. He’s a human being and clearly very, very down these past weeks. I don’t think he’s one to be able to fake sycophantic celebrations to keep favour with us fans. I truly think he is processing the acceptance that this could be the beginning of the end, and for that reason we can cut him some slack and see how he is at Christmas. He has his England cap, a dream hundreds will never realise, and that is something no one is going to take away from him.

Regarding this post, many of us did say all along that it was Bielsa behind Rodrigo’s poor return, and perhaps it’s time to lift much of the blame from Rodrigo. Look at his joy of scoring his second goal yesterday to see how happy he is playing in his favoured position.

The ‘kids’? Well, I’ve maintained my stance on that topic consistently for a couple of years now, and I haven’t changed my opinion. My ONLY concern is that many of them are quite small in stature, so next on Orta’s list must be a youngster to grow into a players with a taller and stronger physique. Seeing these youngster play, will only make us more attractive to those who fit that profile.

My last article was about “5Gs” and I stick with that, adding Archie Gray into the mix. Then Drameh, Perkins, Fernandez and even Cresswell if he can get his act together. We have to potential to build a strong first teams squad with those youngsters fully integrated into it.

‘Very happy to score goals, but for me the only thing that matters in football is to win, so who cares, if we come back to Leeds with nothing today?’ Rodrigo after the game.

Overtraining
Injuries
Not playing kids
No squad depth
Kids used as cannon fodder only
Rodrigo not scoring

List is growing for bielsa. Makes you wonder how he got us up really

posted on 13/11/22

Still think we need another striker to compete with Rodrigo.

Bamford seems finished but it could be due to his injuries. For all we know he could be desperate to get back to him form but the injury is stopping him.

Joffy seems more of a number 10 to me.

Gnonto/Perkins seem good but have mainly played on the wings so far.

Joseph looks good but is very young and raw. Not sure I'd like to think we were relying on him at this stage.

Basically the EPL is unforgiving and if you don't improve your down.

It’s merely a list of cheap comments made from folk on here with short memories Mont.

I’ve been pretty vocal on the issues with the current tactics. For me we look far more vulnerable under Marsch with these narrow tactics than we did with Bielsa 1-1 marking. Narrow tactics may work in a poor Austrian league when you have the best players but to continually isolate the likes of cooper/struijk/Firpo on the left side of the defence is suicidal. Wingers are getting all the time in the world and it is far too easy getting to our byline. Marsch may feel he is stemming the threat of teams walking through the middle but surely that’s why we have employed Adams and Roca? We have paid a fortune to put up a huge brick wall and simply leave the doors open round the bar for anyone to sneak in.

I simply don’t get it 🤷🏼‍♂️
