The only one of their draconian laws I would ever have is making spitting an offence, far too many cretins gobbling on the street

---

Lets hope that all of the footballers get this message... Not like the profession most likely to gob somewhere is being televised or anything.

Yeah cannot stand it from them. The only time it is acceptable in my opinion is when you get a fly in your mouth

Well about 2 mins into yesterday’s game a Qatar player unloaded a gobful of spit onto the pitch

I’m neither boycotting the World Cup, nor ignoring the problems with it. Usually I’d already be making plans for which matches I’ll be watching. This tournament I’ll watch England, maybe France and, mainly because of the two Gabis, Brazil.

Didn’t even occur to me to watch last nights game. Don’t really know who is playing who...

One thing I’ve noticed, mainly due to its absence, is the lack of excitement there is round here about it all. Normally there’d be cars with flags on, people organising sweepstakes at work, WC tat being shoved into our faces in every shop in town.

Maybe it’s the time of year. Christmas dominating people’s thoughts. Maybe the form of the England team going into it. Or maybe just the state of the national?

But I’ve just not seen much, if any, acknowledgement there’s a World Cup on, outside of the media attention.

Yes it definitely doesn’t feel like it normally does, partly because it’s f*cking November!

Not seen any flags on cars or black cabs or anything, and I don’t even think all pubs are showing it.

I’m off anyway today, which is the only reason I’ll watch. Don’t even know who England play next out of USA or Wales, let alone the dates.
