I actually thought he would leave due to no CL football but when he stayed, I had hoped he would play this final season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly and most of the the time I’ve seen him he’s been crap
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apart from a handful of games last season he has been really poor. Hard to see him being anything else in the World Cup.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This. Some will try and tell you he brilliant last and carried us last. The old magic came out on the odd occasion but he was generally poor.

I'm both sorry and glad, like most I suppose.
He was a great player for us first time around, and I'm sure he hoped/expected to be a star second time around. But he wasn't.
I think frustration played a part in his behaviour, but he had to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it was arrogance more than anything else.

I'd be slightly more worried if Liverpool or City did, as they have very good sporting operations, and it would make me worried that I was wrong and Ronaldo was right about whether he was finished at this level.

Even if he did quite well for them it would be narrative gold: he'd be divisive among Chelsea fans, and it would spark a spectacular war on the United forums, between unrepentant haters and emboldened fanboys. That, Dazza, is the kind of content I will be here for.

Nah, he can’t score goals now which is why he can’t siu.
Succinct.
Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.
Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.
No need to say more.
Good that he’s gone but cannot think of a single top striker that will be available in January window. Best option is Gakpo and he is not an out and out striker, more like Rashford.
