Let battle commence!
Let's face it the players have chucked it for whatever reason so the only way is surely up?
Seems to be very highly regarded as a coach. Time will tell if he can cut it as a manager. Personally I’m quite glad you didn’t get somebody more experienced, like Dyche.
Pros and cons but interesting Rangers have gone 'all in' with a long contract - must be hoping for a compo departure again?
Is this the first time Rangers have put their faith in a Mick?
Yeah not my first choice either but not far behind.
I think he will do well, at least we will have a plan and style. He’s got an eye for a young player so hopefully can bring in a couple in Jan.

They often put in clauses now where they can be sacked/move on for a set fee much lower than the whole contract.

Was thinking that myself.
Knew he’d started the season well at QPR, but hadn’t realised they’d tailed off a fair bit … no wins in 5 games. Played 21 … won 9, drawn 4, lost 8, GD +2. Meh.
The first conversations with Buff and Kent about loyalty are going to be interesting!
Can't say I'm inspired by this appointment, but I will of course support him and hope he does well.
Certainly interesting. Cynic in me says they hired a less experienced guy to screw him over on transfer funds though maybe wishful thinking? If they had none for GvB after EL and CL qual....?
Anyway, he has only one job to win the league. Anything else is noise - as it is at Celtic.
Apparently he’s even shorter than GVB, if you can imagine such a thing.
We were all pretty dismissive of Ange when he was appointed, hopefully Beale will turn out better than expected also

You really are trying to stir Zach out of retirement aren't you
Great appointment for Celtic fans.
Surprised with the apathy. With a Mick in charge I thought you’d all be absolutely Beale’n?
Underwhelming appointment. Bears putting a brave face on while sitting in their Broxy Bear PJs sobbing.

If Celtic can appoint a Billy....
Dyche was my first choice....largely because, given his comments when he turned down the Wolves job, I didnt think Beale would leave QPR to come to us.
The fact he has turned down a Premier League job to stay at QPR......but has then left that job a few weeks later to come to us...that says a lot to me, about how big a job Beale really thinks this is.
Don't think he was keen on the setup at Wolves, but its not as though our board comes across as the most supportive and accommodating for its managers is it?
The guy was a huge part of our progress under Gerrard... Kent says he is the best coach he has ever worked with....Emilio Martinez basically said that Beale wasn't just a coach at Villa, he was almost on a par with Gerrard and it was as if there were two managers, that's how influential his presence was.
Still a bit of a gamble, but what I hope to see is a style of play instilled again, a far better level of fitness, and to see a team on the park that is difficult to beat, particularly at home....as these were traits under Gerrard, traits we were sadly lacking under Gio given we seemed to have no real game plan, looked very leggy at times, and got our erses handed to us on several occasions.
Having a couple weeks to get the feet under the table can only be a help to him...we've also got the friendly with Leverkusen on the 10th for him to have a tinker with.....look forward to our game with Hibs on the 15th
Rangers have basically appointed the new Ian Cathro
sticking to my original opinion, the mastermind behind gerrards success.
wit success? he won 1 trophy.
does he get the blame for gerrards failures as well?

This is a new question. Maybe someone will answer this for you. Not the kind of thing you’d need to ask twice.

We should have done better in cups no doubt.
But silly to simply look at it on trophies alone given where we were before Gerrard took over - 3rd and miles off Celtic. The gap was gone when Gerrard left, and Gio has taken us backwards since the summer.
Closing that gap was a massive success in itself given the level of our spending vs Celtic’s. That financial gap has also closed last couple years, and left us in a worse spot, which can hopefully be sorted in summer.
Never mind the success Gerrard gave us in Europe, can talk about not being prepared for CL and how experience in that competition can help players for next time but clear some top results gave the foundation for getting to Seville
