Joke of a pro if he played through that for his country. Club should fine him for the time he is out.

Im assuming he saw Lovren named in the teamsheet and figured he didn't really need his hamstring in that game?

Which one made the QF team of the week though?

First of many I fear. I very much doubt any of our world cup players will be up and running for the Brentford match. You can more or less rule out Romero, Lloris and Perisic right now, as they are all still involved.

Bit rich coming from a supporter of a financially doped club, that without the oil money would be in the Championship or lower.

You're wasting your time. Sandy cannot get his head around that fact. He thinks that every club below city and Chelsea are total paupers despite the fact we spent the best part of a Billion on our stadium project. Not even the mighty Utd are willing to spend that kind of cash. It's sour grapes, that's all.

Nah Spurs earnt their money to buy the stadium. City are ultra financially doped. They were gifted their money. Purchased their way to the top.

And Spurs are still paying for the stadium.

what did Spurs contribute towards their almost 200m per year in tv & media revenue?

Or for that matter the 120m per year that Southampton get.

teams in EPL are massively overfunded in comparison to the rest of the world.

theres your "doping" tv deal almost twice as much as the next highest. and multiple times more than other leagues.

any fan of an English club in the EPL that complains about the money in the game are rather ignorant.

compared to say an Ajax who get about 9m per year in their leagues tv deal.

Southampton get 12x times the amount Ajax get tv revenue .. just let that set in.

The Barca's/Real Madrid/PSGs/City/M utds of this world are responsible for the elite of the game getting massively overpaid compared to others.

But all EPL clubs were the catalyst to the problem of average players getting massively overpaid now. Some of the wages handed out to some players in the EPL who are on their best day average is shocking.

I dont blame the English clubs its just the way it is, but spare me the complaints about other teams having too much money!

Pretty sure everyone would take the risk to play for your country at the biggest tournament in the world.

Yep….annoys me when people say the club pays the wages etc

To most (if not all) these guys pinnacles of their careers is playing at the World Cup, euros, copa America etc

Of course they risk injury and being out for their clubs….Don’t blame them one bit ….it’s a short career and they need to make the most of it ….they aren’t fans for life like most of us but some still judge them like they should love the club like we do ….some do most don’t

Still shat news though as he looked in good form and was hoping he was bringing that back against Brentford

With a hamstring injury you should know you are going to under perform so no need to risk. Play the long game and hope your team mates get you through so you can play in the final.

Will be watching Romero tonight as he looks like he in the same boat.
