Whats a serious gamer?

Not me that's for sure. Not anymore at least.

I am sorry but this isn't even priced at serious gamer level, this is rip off prices for a small few to be able to say "I have <enter name of hideously over priced item that's barely better than similar product 1/4 of the price>". Massive swing and a miss for Sony since apparently they designed a controller for the 0.02 of gamers

And the biggest pro that I saw seems to be software......so why the hell don't we already have this? All that is there can be done on a normal dual sense Basically you are paying £160 for software and the ability to pay ~£20 a pop for a problem that shouldn't even be there! Oh and let's not forget the worse battery life

Priced similar to the elite and we would be talking. Sony got greedy - unfortunately big techs are constantly falling in this hole these days *cough* Nvidia/amd *cough*

I never really understand these arguments. If people want it they will buy it. If they don't they won't. I'm not sure where you get the 0.02 number from? But personally I would expect a lot more than that.

depends how many people you consider serious gamers. 0.02% doesn't seem too far off the amount of casual players to "pros" no?

Also you make it seem like £208 is chump change and it’s only a matter of want. Not every “serious gamer” can afford that so it’s not as simple “If people want it they will buy it. If they don't they won't.”

I love how you missed the fact that there is almost 0 value to this over the dual sense and the only thing you have a problem with is my facetious math....though that is 500,000 people so I am not sure how wrong that is and how many "pro gamers" Sony caters too .

Negatives:
Most the features seem to be software
The battery is worse (and the dual sense already had. A notoriously bad battery Vs it's competitors)
It's 4 times more and basically identical to it's biggest competitor (Sony's own dual sense)
It fixes a problem that a £200 controller shouldn't ship with (stick drift)
Very basic customisation that doesn't account for a 400% price increase.

Pros
Back buttons
Ability to shorten triggers

Both things that could be added to a dual sense pretty cheaply

Sorry but no

Thank God I can buy the best PS5 controller for a great price - the dual sense!

Simon I don't have any problem with you, you are one of the most constructive posters on here, and I always look forward to reading your comments.

This is for the pro gamer, a niche market for sure, but I'm also sure there will be many average gamer's also looking for an edge.

|RTM £200 is certainly not chump change, which is one of the reasons I won't be buying one.

What's a pro gamer amiga

You keep using this phrase as though it's some sort of defence? How many "pro gamers" are there in the PS5 echo system? Why is this for "pro gamers"? Surely Sony want to sell this to everyone?

Also where is the value

I am sorry but I am the person Sony needs to be marketing too, not a bunch of wanna be streamers or pretend Ninjas who make 50p a year from YouTube

The "pro" scene is so tiny you wouldn't do it. So it's not the pro scene Sony are going after, it's the naive.

Again why aren't the majority of those features (profiles, deadzones, button mapping) available? They are software!

My dude I am happy for debate, but I am so far seeing very little other than the terrible excuse that it's for this tiny tiny tiny group of people who would barely turn up as percentage on Sony's balance sheet. BS.

Like I said it's not just Sony doing this though Nvidia and AMD are also currently doing it, it's just bad business practice that companies attempt to take advantage of idiots by pricing so called "elite" products super high

The pro gamer scene may be small in comparison to PS5 sales. But this is a niche product. Having said that simply reading through the comments on youtube, there are plenty of people looking to buy one.
