His general play was good. He had that 1 chance in the first half where he should have hit it but just stopped.

We don’t pay him £100k/week to be awful though. It was a class goal and hopefully one that gives him confidence because before that he was hopeless
Eddie has 11 goals in 11 starts at the Emirates
Eddie played well.
What a goal too.
Eddie played well. Loads of good link up play and good touches. People waaank over Jesus for doing similar without actually scoring. Nketiah does that AND scores yet the typical Arsenal hating Arsenal "supporters" are slating him 😂😂

€40 million plus €20 million add on first bid. I reckon €50 million plus €20 million add on will do it.

Except he wasn’t. Haven’t been Eddies biggest fans but can’t doubt his improvement. Took his goal well, credit where it’s due 👍.
Nketiah's link up play and even more so runs when the ball is in central midfield needs to improve it he wants to make it at the top. He had several opportunities to peel off and get in behind in the first half (before their goal) but it wasn't clicking. Instead he neither created space or gave the midfield the option to play him in. Brilliant goal in the end so hopefully he'll build on that, the pressure must be immense at the moment.
Where would Mudryk play if he joined? I haven't seen much of him but apparently he's a wide forward usually? Given Saka and Martinelli are guaranteed starters then I guess we either see Mudryk playing centrally or shuffling Martinelli into CF which seems a gamble unless we still plan to bring in another CF... Not like we have great back ups to the wide positions anyway.

Bit worried about how Eastern Europeans settle, but he has Zinny.
Shkatar saying it's not enough, is Mudryk that much better than Gakpo?
Yeah I thought Eddie was alright, not good enough to convince me but if Jesus had dropped that performance today we'd be pretty happy with it

Thats the argument we should be making . Gakpo has done it in a better league yet going to Liverpool for less than we have offered.

It's just about how much a club is willing to turn down, don't think we'll be able to logic our way around their demands and they're owned by a billionaire so guess they aren't exactly desperate to sell.
If the player is that good we'll need to pick a max offer at some point but move on fast to a new target if they don't accept

Eddie was awful
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was far from awful, but he doesn't inspire confidence at the same time
You have to go back to Andy Cole to appreciate Eddie. He will never be able to replicate Jesus outside the box but inside it he is very clever in finding space.
Its interesting Arsenal are still hot for Mudryk. I suppose the idea is to shift Martinelli to the middle early. I am not convinced by Marti's play back to goal at this point in his development but who can argue with Edu's recruitment.

Agree with Silver. Mudryk is absolute dynamite, having seen plenty of him against both Celtic and Scotland. Would be a very good addition for Arsenal. Only saw the last hour of your game last night BTW, but was very impressed.

Considering we were trying for Raphinha in summer, a wide forward has clearly always been a target, regardless of what happened with Jesus. So I think it's now just a case of sticking with the plan, and adding to our attacking options in general. He's a quality player and seems very open to joining, so it's a very achievable transfer.
I do wonder where ESR fits in when he gets back.
ESR can fit into either the Xhaka or Odegaard role or in either or the wide attacking roles. So I am sure if he can get fit and stay fit he will see enough time on the pitch.
Not so sure about him playing a false 9 role though.

I think they were attempting to buy Raphinha because Arteta/Edu were not convinced by Martinelli. I think that has resolved itself. In fact Marti's direct running has balanced Saka very well. A lot like Mane and Salah. Which is why haven't been so reliant on Jesus's goals.
Is Mudryk that type of player?
