I think we'll start the season strongly but I worry another loss to them will just strengthen their hold over us, especially given we should have been ahead at half-time. I dunno, maybe they can just brush it off as a friendly, but the meer thought of playing City seemed to loom over us during our collapse last season.

I think that’s because of all the hammerings they’ve given you in the league. You’ve beaten them in the cup over the years and it’s made no difference, and they’re actually competitive matches.

It’s just a friendly. I get it would have meant a bit for Arsenal and Arteta but playing us now vs in the heat of battle is a completely different thing anyway.
