Just looked at they won the league twice in the 30s before it was professional. Was a genuine question because I’ve never really thought of Berlin as having giants of German football.

Union Berlin who were considered a "small" club in Berlin are now the top dogs in the city now

They were an East German club
back in those days the big club in East Berlin was Dynamo

Yeah the Union Berlin story is an interesting one.

Didn't Bertha basically have rich investors? I don't really remember them ever doing anything of note in my lifetime.

They've lost 4 out of 5 ... Schalke have been a bit better, I think, at least they've competed. Bertha iirc have suffered a couple of blowout defeats

Kubo's bagged twice for la Real today. Peks, did we sell him outright, or have we retained an interest?

Hardly. They got him for €6M, his release clause now is €60M, and they could probably get close to that as is if he actually wanted to leave.

Sunderland beat Soton 5-0, 16 year old Chris Rigg scored. Soton had 68% possession. Russell Martin is such a funny manager, his teams always get battered whilst having 60+ possession.
