Watched them for the first time this season on Friday against Bayern and they looked impressive and were maybe a little unlucky not to have won. They might be shaping up to be the biggest challengers this season.

If they have a good season I think Leverkusen will struggle to keep Alonso for another year.

Good, just getting restarted after the summer break.

I was wondering about their overall style - just following their results from afar, it seems like they're resilient and refuse to roll over, but the scorelines suggest it isn't a very controlled football they play.

Saw extended highlights from Friday's game, looked a real cracker.

Fun fact: last time a Mourinho or Simeone side infuriated their manager by winning 7-0, they went on to lose their next match 3-0.

Not sure about that last part ioag although I'd need to see more of them but what they were saying during commentary on Friday was that Leverkusen are setting themselves higher up the pitch than last season, their pressing is more constant and they've taken more of a possession heavy approach which was evident to an extent against Bayern.

I imagine the little boy running with the ball had just done a really bad miss so out of sportsmanship and to rekindle his confidence they agreed to let him run through and score into the empty net. A very nice gesture from the opposition and hopefully sorted his confidence out. At this level confidence is everything and can really shape the rest of their careers.
