Spurs had let a hapless Chelsea side back into the game even before the red cards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
dunno why Udogie and Romero turned the game into one of those ones when prior to that we were playing them off the park
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They were hitting you on the counter even when you had both CB's on the pitch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm talking about the initial challenges from Romero and Udogie that turned the game all bitty and transitional, not the sending offs.
prior to that Udogie tackle we were so controlled

Just watched the highlights from last night (was out with no phone coverage)
Spurs.. thought they were 2 up in 15 minutes...what a complete fackin clusterfack they were
Both Reds were one decision late...VAR failures - again
Then Spurs committed suicide with that hilarious high line
Brilliant..

Postecoglou on his high line: "It's just who we are, mate. As long as I'm here, that's what we're going to do. Even with five men, we'll have a go."
Lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
loosely converts into "if those twatts EVER fackin try that again they'll be in the reserves..
Even Spurs goal was pure luck...keeper had the shot covered
Back to those prior to the red card tackles & petulant kick outs...I mean seriously how much evidence to VAR need
It's fackin scandalous...& I like VAR in principle

They're not "VAR failures" though, are they?
If anything they're failures on behalf of the officials - first the on-field ref, who fails to spot or adequately penalise the offences in real time, and then the review officials who don't want to overrule their chum.
It isn't the technology that's failing, it's how humans are using it.
They are VAR failures...VAR has the capability to advise the ref of a possible red card...& they obviously didn't
To clarify - I meant VAR officials...

How does AI make these subjective decisions? Does it build up a database of similar subjective calls on incidents from the past? How does it tell intent? A player may leave a leg in a position in order to trip a player but a previous incident saw that as not moving leg towards a player. Same with handball.
VAR does make a lot of decisions easier to make. What we maybe didn't anticipate was the extra scrutiny on refs regarding decisions that didn't need to be made in the past. Like that potential offside in the Newcastle game. It just doesn't get noticed by anyone without VAR so there is no decision to be made.
It is like going on a night out as a Gen Z. Just 10 years ago you could go out, not remember half the night and wake up in the morning and that was that. Someone might tell you that you did something stupid but they barely remember it either.
Now you wake up and you're a viral ticking tock as people are recording the whole night.
If I want to map out the forest extent in Russia, I would want a relatively low resolution satellite image to map the forest areas. I wouldn't want it down to 1m resolution to count every tree like the refs are having to do now.
A more balanced approach needed. Maybe not just looking at just the forest as a whole, but maybe just the different types of trees it is made up of. Not each individual branch of individual trees like refs are being made to look at right now. They are land management experts not experts on particular tree branch biology.
What else? The surveillance state is a good philosophical debate which could become more relevant in football. Should we get to hear what the refs are saying like in rugby? Do we get sensors on players that measure intent? Do we go seeking the absolute truth through whatever means possible?
Anyway, the point of this comment was to symbolise the delay you have to experience between a goal actually going in and it actually being given. Once you get to the end of the comment it has kind of lost its meaning. You have had all of that joy sucked out of you. Sorry
Absolutely we should be privy to ref's conversations v the mike..Rugby does it..it also does sin bins too...something else we could introduce
Arteta should be mic’d up toi
Looking forward to Robb waking up and seeing what happened in the cricket.
Why, did he fall asleep watching cricket? Understandable.
I switched it on at Around 91/7 to watch Australia get bowled out. Then he scores an unbeaten 200 with one working leg.

Is he New York or the Kraken?
Who is watching the Toon lads
Not me. I'm watching Dortmund.
Breaking: FA, following his comments, have written to both Mikel Arteta and Arsenal to seek their observations.
Hopefully a 1 month touch line ban he makes me sick
