was a pen for me. Keepers seem to get a decent amount of leeway because when they normally challenge for the ball they are diving towards the player to stop the ball.
This time though he wasn't diving, he just jumped right into the player.
If it's an outfield player doing the same action then a foul is given, no question.

Saka has basically cheated there. Knows he won't get the ball when he puts it past silva so looks for a foul. Free kicks shouldn't be given for that, never mind a yellow

The penalty was obviously a foul, but you rarely see them given. Tony Adams used to call it a free opportunity to smash the player taking a shot.

Taking the shot is irrelevant. Keeper should have been booked and as a consequence would have walked.
I agree that it was a foul and that the right decision was made but usually the wrong desicion is made, so the wrong decision should have been made instead of the right one

The thing you need to decide about the penalty is whether is a natural collision with both players seeing to play the ball, or if Ederson has played the opponent instead of the ball.
Most incidents like that are deemed a collision, so not given.
You can make a case for both.

Referee aside, it’s been a mildly entertaining game. Both sides look like they’re feeling the pressure, lost of sloppy possession.
Arsenal look the better side overall but lack quality in the final third.
Pep has his work cut out at HT imo, 3 players on a yellow and they’re struggling to get any possession. Their bench looks surprisingly weak.
