We're not winning the Euros with these negative tactics and mindset.
I'd say at least Southgate will finally fack off after, but will just be replaced by another yes man.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There isn't an English born manager that it an obvious replacement either.
Eddie Howe won't be leaving club football just yet and Potter probably the same. Not that either of them two are top class but probably the best we have.
Another foreign coach?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuchel or Poch if they could be convinced for me.

No German or Argentine could really coach England to a trophy

Shaw being fit would help Foden massively on the left side.
No chance he will be match fit though even if he’s cleared to play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree, unless hes instructed to hold and its tactical from Southgate... Trippier barely ventured forward, can't see Shaw being that passive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We client win this tournament with that left hand side. There is zero width, and as good as Luke Shaw can be, I’m unsure if he has the fitness. I don’t really know the solution. Could try Gordon out there.!

Fair enough. Last time they played together they didn't seem fluid to me but who knows after training together daily

Gallagher and Bowen were good subs, did well in their time on the pitch.
Mainoo came on for fresh legs and ball recycling for 5 minutes, did fine, nothing else.
Someone more direct instead of Foden would’ve been useful, can’t see Southgate dropping him though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
foden was better 2nd half tbf he won some free kicks when we were under pressure etc. then he did that awful pass when we were 3 vs 3can see why southgate kept him on he works hard and can carry the ball and relieve pressure.
But ofc he has to improve, our left side was pretty poor, defended well at times though but didnt offer much the other way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thought him and Kane both did alright in the first half tbh, Kane was more over to the left and they created the space for Saka on the right.
Second half, way too much of a gap to the front three. As soon as he dropped Bellingham’s position, should have taken at least Foden off and maybe Kane too.
I’d rather he have kept the midfield further forward though, they lost complete control of the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i would say gordon and bowen would suit us more if kane is to play and trent tin mf. could do with more than just saka holding wide and runs behind, foden cutting in kane dropping deep isnt getting the best out of trent in mf. Though he did ping some nice balls it was all to saka really.
Where as if you wanna play foden and kane like that imo mainoo and palmer would work better linking up with kane and jude and foden etc.
Truth is we looked most threatening down the outside putting the ball in, simply didnt do it enough 2nd half. Saka even got the tables flipped on him after having them on toast 1st half.
Seems to me England have lots of players to mix & match with, & hopefully by the end of the group games Southgate has an 11 that he wants to start with in the knockouts

im sure he will go full defensive in knockouts, use the squad navigate groups. think hes not got it quite right with the balance as people mentioned right away tonight. But as i said like the Iceland game theres a lot to learn from tonight. with 3 points in the bag learn from it, find that balance and build on it.
