England under Southgate really do get a lot of lucky tournament draws. Which has somewhat inflated Southgate's achievements. He should get to the final with this draw. Anything other than that is a failure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hes finished top of the group. Hes made his own luck to be fair to him there regardless of how sh!te theyve been.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The easiest group was out of England's hands at the final whistle of their final match
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If he lost youd have dropped to the tough half. He didnt. Hes won the group if other teams elsewhere make a cant of things and it opens up the draw for england thats not luck. Not rocket science ffs. Who gives a fack how you get there.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Denmark had scored a last minute winner then it would have been an absolute meltdown in England, that had never been seen before. Technically there was zero difference in terms of Southgate's approach in that respect. It was out of his hands and he got a bit lucky with his negative tactics in the end.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
England are almost certainly going to end up in a final now because theyve done their job and won their group. Couldnt see them beating france but theyve shat the bed and now opened it up. Again as I said from the outset, you make your own luck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How does one make their own luck? I really don't understand this concept

As I said, from a Southgate management perspective, Denmark winning the group was the exact same result as England winning the group as it was out of his hands in the end. Would you have been praising him if Denmark had got that last minute goal? It doesn't matter that they didn't. It's the same thing. His approach.

The likes of Spain, Portugal and Germany in the other half of the draw made their own luck too, topping their groups and ended up with each other and France in their half heading into the knockouts. England did nothing to "make their luck". How is earning 5 points from an easy group making your luck?

Sheriff youve just listed it yourself. France have dropped into that half of the draw as they didnt make their own luck, they lost a game thats now placed them into a sh!tstorm.

You win your group. For the big teams thats the objective. England have done that and their reward is they now wont see france, who wouldve almost certianly spanked them, until the final at the earliest.

because france didn't win their group, which was entirely their fault. if we had france and italy in our half of the draw, that wouldn't like quite so favourable would it?

Well I care a lot about England and just want what's best for the team so we shall just have to agree to disagree. But if I parked my car in the middle of the road around a blind corner and a car didn't come around that corner and hit me, I wouldn't call that good parking.
