Yep, England are Champions at U17 level many times over but don't appear to kick on at senior level. Nothing since 1966 is simply not good enough for a country with the best league in the world.

Southgate has had an easy route in the last 3 major tournaments to the finals.

Today at HT the player of the championship and one of the best in the world went off and we still couldn't get other the line.

Scotland know they have a small pool of players to select from so you are happy with mere qualification.

Pickford is the most important player for England, seriously. We've won 2 pen shootouts with him and we've not had any major errors. When you think of all the other major errors from past keepers who have cost us in big games - Seaman against Brazil, Carson against Croatia, Robinson against Croatia, Green against USA, Hart against Iceland.

Of course I grew up watching Scotland qualify for World cups and I kinda thought that was the norm, that was beaten out me as I got aulder and it did hurt but I understand where we as a nation are, I don’t take any joy really when England lose but it does mean I don’t have to hear the media get a bit mad
