Both United and City are no longer football clubs in any real sense; rather, they are vehicles for channelling more misery into society.

I agree GT, it would create a "new manager bounce" over the short term but over the long term the Uber sheite within the squad would surface and we would be back to square one. The remaining clutter, deadwood will need to shifted over a number of transfers to create a competitive dynamic leading to greater options. At present we have a "team", that's highly imbalanced, low on confidence, getting to know one another and getting punished with every error.

It took Arteta a while to sort our mess out.

Otherwise I see now chance United challenging for the PL title any time soon.

A new manager might help short-term but United really need a long term project.
