they did last season didnt they ? then they gave a goal that was clearly offside to give city a 2-1 lead before HT? they went on to win 5-1 and haaland came out and said he'd be fuming with that decision he was fulham.

I think if the laws upheld to a tee the game becomes so petty and interrupted and just ridiculous. And also would rule out a lot of physical aspects to the game. Its gotten soft enough as it is ffs. ppl want it even softer?

I love watching elite football primarily because I know just how difficult it is to play it as skilfully as the top pros play it. I much prefer cycling when it comes to the admiring the physical side of sport. If I want to see people clog each other, then there's a host of martial arts and truly contact-based sports.

Holding an opponent back is not permitted under the rules, even outside the penalty area. However, other forms of physical contact are allowed as long as they adhere to the laws of the game. I am choosing to watch football not rugby.
