I know we're probably meant to LAL here but I quite like Nunez as a player. Think we'd love him if he was at OT.

I wanted him in the summer. Maybe not at that price if it prevented us getting the type of player we did but I 'd have been happy with the signing.

He's like a crazier, younger Cavani in some ways.

Nunez is a very handy player, I'm not convinced he'll ever be a prolific goalscorer though.

It's very very difficult to coach finishing under pressure into somebody as a lot of it is down to instinct.

If he keeps getting himself into positions he will score goals. It's just in those critical moments in say a tight game where you're only going to get one chance, that I don't think he's a reliable player to get you a goal as he tends to rush his shots and ends up dragging them or mishitting them.

As an all round player there's no reason why he can't be successful as he has the right attitude. He'll never be a clinical finisher though.

Yes. I always like players who put the effort in and don't hide. He's probably a bit unlucky in that he's joining a Liverpool side not at their best at present.

I'm not convinced he's a number 9.

Rapid, strong, seems better at shooting coming in off the side. As a number 9 he's offside way to often, hard to build off of because he wears cement boots and profligate with chances.

He doesn't really need coaching at finishing IMO. He's been pretty good at it in his previous clubs. He also started slowly in Portugal too. The whole team is in a bad place right now. When the team improves I'm sure Nunez will too.

I suspect that he will come good once he gets a few goals under his belt. However, the longer he struggles for, the more the pressure builds. It might break him. We saw what happened with Forlan.

Forlan was a great striker at his peak in his day. If Nunez can reach peak Forlan level and stay there he will have a great career.

Has he? I haven't seen enough of him pre-Liverpool tbh.

From what I have seen, the goals he's scored have come from a pass from a team mate where he doesn't have to do anything other than take one touch to put the ball into the net.

I haven't seen him have to create a yard for himself or turn a defender. It's all come from somebody else creating the opening.

Maybe that's unfair, but I'm only judging on what I've seen of him.

Cole was a great striker, i use to tell people that where there's Cole there's chances and where there's chances there're goals. Coles spacing and movement is the best in Pl history. Reaching those goals without penalties is incredible.

Cole and Vardy are in my top 5 all time Pl strikers not just for what they did but for how they did it, amazingly.

Seems you don't watch a lot of our games. And he also retrieves impossible balls and turns harmless situations into big goal scoring opportunities out of nowhere.

Seems more like you didn't read what I wrote. I said that side of his game was good. I just said he wasn't a natural finisher, which from what I've seen he isn't.

For me he'll need more chances to score goals than somebody like Haaland or Kane. The positive is he will keep trying and trying so will probably get more opportunities to do so.

You also said you'd never seen him turn a defender or create a yard for himself and that he doesn't have to do anything other than one touch that puts it in the goal.

As I said, his record at previous clubs disagrees that he isn't a natural finisher, and he's only 6 months with Liverpool and has 9 goals. We'll see how it goes.

We will indeed, but I genuinely haven't seen him do that for Liverpool.

I've seen him slide in a couple of times, score some headers and side foot some past the keeper. Nothing wrong with that at all. But that isn't the same as making something from a poor pass or trying to do it on your own.

He's not a bad player and that's not what I'm saying at all. He just doesn't look like a pure goalscorer to me and it's something very very difficult to teach.

I think Nuñez will have phases where he scores loads. But he’ll probably always have that unpredictable element.

100% he was. But he had to leave United to achieve his potential - which was my point.

Darwin will start hitting the target more often. I have no worries about him.

And one day he may even start scoring goals.
