Kane to do a Sol Campbell in 18 months
I think Harry will break Greavsie’s record this season and will then be happy to leave to a team more capable of winning trophies. To leave as Tottenham’s highest ever scorer would be some send off. I hope he stays, he is like two or three players in one, such a talented passer.
Curious to see if Kane cares more for the PL record than trophies at a team like Bayern. No matter what Spurs spend they won't become Bayern Munich over night and his career is coming to an end.
It's the Le tissier conundrum. I've no doubt he would rather win a trophy at spurs than anywhere else but our league is so competitive there aren't any guarantees outside City.
And despite pep getting haaland I've no doubt he'd sign Kane on a free. City don't need creativity but dropping deep with haaland up top would be scary.

Very good chance England would have beaten France, they were well capable of doing so.

Kane has been part of a group of players that had opportunities to win trophies for the club on three occasions and also near misses in semi finals.
It's not like staying at Tottenham has failed him when he is part of reason he has no winners medals. (Football clubs get trophies players get medals).
Staying at Tottenham beyond 2023 could well still come to fruition for him.

How is his career coming to an end? He could play on into his late 30s, like a lot of players currently playing in the Prem. He has several more years left as it stands.

I was unfortunately listening to Talksport early today and the presenter Ade Oldipo was saying how he thought Ian Wright and Andy Cole were better strikers than Kane.
Both were very good in their time but Kane is another level. People will always say he can't be that good because he's never won anything but it's such a stupid argument. Football is a team game and you can't win things on your own.
I wonder if he would leave to go abroad when he's so close to getting the PL goal record? I guess he might feel he can leave and then come back and finish it off in a few years or so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you measure talent by trophies then Steve Morrow is a better player than Harry Kane. Absolutely ridiculous argument, that. That's typical Talksport. It says something when Simon Jordan is the one that represents the voice of reason.

My only fear about Kane is that at the end of his career he won't have a fondness or a soft spot for us. It'll just be resentment at denying him the trophies he deserves. Whether that anger should be directed at Levy or not doesn't really matter. There's no doubt in my mind, he'll hate the fact that he's one of OUR own and not City's, Chelsea's or Liverpool's. He'll never say it but he must be thinking it.
In an ideal world the club would have given him as much as he's given us but we've fallen woefully short of his standards. It's such a shame. I'm getting real Jimmy White vibes. It's just not gonna happen is it. Steffen Iversen has more Spurs trophies than him. Let that sink in.
It stinks being the club that's denying a true legend his right to the top trophies.

I met Stefan Iverson in HomeBase once. I was working there when I was at college, he’d not long signed for Spurs and came in with his mum to get some stuff for decorating his new gaff. Me and my two spurs supporting pals were straight over to say hello!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And when he popped in to buy stuff to decorate his gaff in order to sell it some 6-7 years later, you and two spurs supporting pals were straight over to say "pisssss off".

He might have an argument if Wright or Cole had more PL goals than Kane, or more international goals, or more CL goals, or had reached a century of goals quicker. But they don’t. Kane is clearly, clearly superior to both and that guy is clearly, clearly clueless or perhaps a little biased.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Olidipo is black himself and it started to feel like he was backing players of his own colour until he admitted Les Ferdinand wasn't as good as Kane. It's no question Kane is above those two. They are all goal scorers but Kane has a substantially better record and is a better all round player to boot.
Kane is more on a par with Shearer as pure goal scorers and Shearer was good enough to keep Wright and Cole out of the England team.

Shearer was one of my favourite players growing up so I'll always have a soft spot for him and he was brilliant, but I suspect you are right. If Kane isn't better now he will go on to be, although if someone said they thought otherwise I'd not have a problem with that, only if they thought Wright, Cole etc. were better.
In terms of pure goalscoring ability there's really nothing in it. In fact, if you take into account accumulative injuries, Shearer probably would be further ahead than Kane than he already is. He had 3 years out with injury. Kane has had maybe three ankle rolls which have kept him maybe 9 months total roughly? Shearer was banging them from about the age of 19 onwards, and became amazing by about 21. Kane only got in the Spurs first team at about 21 and only became prolific by about 23-24 so I reckon were it not for injuries, Shearer would have been on over 300 prem goals and out of sight to be honest.

I fear he may choose staying in the prem though- maybe United as they seem the only option, to try get the record. The risk he takes going there is that they will win fack all too, I mean they haven't won anything major in ages.

Kane is a better player than all of them, including Shearer. He was prolific back in the day but that's all he was. You had the likes of Lineker who was the ultimate poacher, then Shearer was better than Lineker for being able to poach AND score brilliant goals from outside the box, and then you've got Kane who is better than Shearer for being about to poach, score belters from anywhere AND be the best damn passer/assist maker at the club. A year ago he was even ahead of De Bruyne on that stat. It's staggering how good he is.
This Olidipo fella, whoever he is, doesn't know his @rse from his elbow.
