I`d be going semi strong, get the game won as early as possible, then use plenty of subs. Making wholesale changes rarely works for us, we always struggle when the B team trots out

We have really important premier league games coming up…. So:
Forster
Tanganga Sanchez Davies
Royal Skipp Sarr Sessegnon
Spence White Gil
Rubbish team I know… but Pompey are League 1& struggling… if this team can’t beat Pompey, then they shouldn’t be at the club…
Have the big boys as subs… coming on at half time if need be…
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no way that side would beat a pub team. Have you not learnt a thing from Spurs when they field weakened sides, they always lose. Other clubs can do it. Spurs simply cannot.
I know Sandy…
That team is too weak
Royal Antwerp & Mura spring to mind…

You’re spot on Billy, go strong and take the game to then from minute won. I think Pompey could be easily over awed with the stadium and spectacle. Get 2 or 3 ahead at half time and sub off Kane and start packing the midfield and get into a holding pattern. It won’t be pretty but I fancy it will be effective and allow us to conserve energy before the NLD.
we have the most one game a week manager going and the squad has rarely been used well enough or been strong enough to compete in more than one competition, part of the reasoning behind trophylessness
We should make XI changes if possible with some big guns on the bench. at worst give Kane and Son halves each. we have too many injuries to keep playing playing Kane, Son, Hojbjerg etc into the ground.
playing a B team doesnt work, no. But we also have a small squad at the moment especially in quality and theres plenty of important premier league games coming up.
We are playing Portsmouth at home, if we lose then the players havent been up to the challenge and so be it.
we didnt rotate against forest in the league cup and still got battered.
could easily start strong to 'get the game won' and still find ourselves 0-0 after an hour.
Forster
Spence Sanchez Dier Davies Sessegnon
Sarr Bissouma
Gil Kane White
or
Forster
Emerson Sanchez Dier Davies
Sarr Skipp
Spence White Sessegnon
Gil

We will still have 8 days before the Arsenal game so go strong to start with tomorrow and pull players off when hopefully the game is more or less won early doors.
Conte won’t survive a defeat tomorrow - even his most ardent backers like myself won’t accept a defeat to Pompey - yes our squad and defence in particular is schitt, but they are not that schitt.
Win comfortably tomorrow and coupled with the Palace result we will take a lot of confidence and a bit of momentum into the Arsenal game. Win that and the feel good factor will be back around the club and the pressure lifted.
Tomorrow is a big game
Just wanna win the game & move on with no new injuries... Don't care who plays as long as there's no Royal or Sanchez... both massively increase our chances of losing
Spurs have a whole week between tomorrow`s game and the Arsenal. Resting players has been a recipe for disaster for years at Spurs.
May as well utilise most of the team that won 4-0 midweek, whilst their confidence is up. Maybe start Sarr for Skipp, but I wouldn`t be changing to much. Son needs to have his confidence fully up to speed for the Arsenal game, so resting him after him scoring midweek is not a good idea.
Players should hardly be tired, most have just had a six week break.

No excuse or reason not to start strong tomorrow, get the game won and our names in the hat. Then we can spend an entire week preparing for Arsenal.
If we could in an ideal world be 3-0 up at half time - give Harry a rest.
I expect Bentancur & Kuleveski to be fit for the NLD…
Team for NLD :
Lloris
Romero Dier Lenglet
Doherty Holbjerg Bentancur Perisic
Kuleveski Kane Son
Team vs Pompey :
Forster
Tanganga Sanchez Davies
Royal Bissouma Sarr Sessegnon
Gil White Kane
(Son & Kane to get a half each)
This team is still strong enough to beat a League 1 team like Pompey at home!!
