He’d had pancreatic cancer, beat it but it came back. Just about the worst type of cancer you can get as it’s largely symptomless until it’s very advanced, poor facker.

Pancreatic and oesophageal cancers are the two worst types to get - typically 5% survival rate at 5yrs post diagnosis
RIP Gianluca
Sorry to hear this news. RIP Gianluca
Serie A stars from the early 90s will always be a bit special for those of us who didn't have Sky growing up. While Vialli was at his best pre-C4 coverage at Sampdoria, he still shone at Juve - especially in their title winning side.
Completely overshadowed by Schillaci in Italia 90, he never really hit the heights at international level, and wasn't at his best when he came to England.
Seemed a decent chap. A great loss to his family and friends.
Ah man, that’s a shame. Used to love Vialli.
One year older than me.. so sad R.I.P.
RIP Gianluca, still remember watching you guys as a child with him and Zola in the side.
Yeah even as a Spurs fan you can’t help but enjoy watching players like Vialli at Chelsea (Zola too)
Vialli was Chelsea's player manager when I first got Into football. Top player. R.I.P
RIP! what a guy he was on and off the field
I remember when the reported news about the interest in bringing him to Chelsea and thought that would never happen.
He did though and totally bought into the club, he's one of our legends, thank for the memories Gian Luca!
RIP
That is sad news. I know recently he was taking time off to fight it but didn't realise it was terminal
I liked Guian Luca very nice guy 58 is no age to pass way , shocked tbf 🌹
