ENIC / Joe Lewis sale

Well no doubt, an exit by ENIC after their chronic failures in winning trophies during their period of charge at the club is merited and should be welcomed by most fans, I cannot see thus happening now sadly.

The club has become in recent years very attractive proposition to investors with its ability to host so many global events, and its record in hospitality as well as the club with Conte, one of the best coaches in the world, why would ENIC relinquish the reign of a very good cash cow?

I want it to happen, but won't hold my breath unfortunately.

A new owner with ambition would be nice, I did jest about being up for the Qatar investment but I'd rather the ambition come from elsewhere, ENIC need to step aside for me.

I`d love a takeover, new owners would have to be pretty dire to win less than what ENIC have, just as long as we don`t get a Mike Ashley type.

Fingers crossed something is happening, I think it may be finally dawning on Levy that the fans are seeing straight through his bullshiete.

The club is about to lose it`s best player and has it`s top drawer manager hedging his bets, it`s written all over Levy`s face too.

Levy/Enic have served their purpose and taken the club as far as they can. I think we have to give them some respect for their time at the club. Admittedly the trophy count has been awful, however when they came in we were perennially mid table, rarely seeing European adventure, playing in a brilliant but small stadium and miles behind the big boys.

The stadium and regular Champions league football is because of Levy/Enic, no two ways about it, they bank rolled that and we have very much enjoyed it. However, they got to the top table and had no idea what was the dessert spoon. There is a clear lack of strategy at the club currently and it is hurting us.

We either need an ultra rich owner who will bank roll us like City and Chelsea and you would imagine Newcastle now. Alternatively a smart businessman with a solid strategy to get us over the trophy line.

My guess is that Joe Lewis has finally realized how old he is. Is it 84 or 85?
Time to get his house in order for his family inheritors!
So......realizing assets like the club may be on his mind.
If THAT is what is going on, then Spurs will not be selling Kane to Real Madrid.
Not unless the price is ridiculously high.

Lewis owns lots of properties everywhere and is pretty much a real bugga when it comes to getting along with locals.
Also owns an extensive fine art collection.
His Wikipedia page make interesting reading....
enjoy......

Nothing will change unless the new investors get levy to leave the club as part of the deal. Get it written in blood. He just can’t help himself but dabble in the football side of things, almost always causing some disaster. His latest was to waste a young talent in spence by forcing him in conte. Meaning we’re down a rwb and spence is just wasting away. All because levy saw a few quid profit .

But I don't get your point?

Our owners as much as I hate everything about them (billionaires shouldn't exist imo) have found a manager they rate, ignored fans like myself and backed him massively in the market and we're looking a lot better than we have in years. Could and probably will go t!ts up but the owners have backed the manager that's for sure

Yeah although I think you did spend fairly well at one point from memory, maybe it was after big sales though. Since they're not really able/willing to spend huge amounts they had absolutely no business hiring Mourinho and Conte, that's what I meant by wrong appointments.

Klopp and the ownere sold big then fixed Liverpool's squad and the rest is history. ETH would've been a much more appropriate appointment for you guys, I'm sure there's plenty of other managers who would suit the spending limitations than the ones Levy went for.

My position has always been the same even when I was criticising ENIC/Levy years ago. I've always wanted them to show more ambition and buck up their ideas. I've never been that keen on becoming just another City or Chelsea type-club and would rather reap the rewards from what our owners have been building themselves by having them deliver. I realise that with 1 cup in 23 years it's hard having faith in them, and with their lack of a push under Poch in particular. I've given them a sort of reprieve lately because they've showed a bit more ambition with the hiring of Conte, the summer transfers which were done in a timely fashion for once. Ultimately from this point onwards they don't really have anywhere left to hide with the new stadium and all the revenue it's generating.

If a new takeover happens I will accept it though.

I did read something a while ago, that stated in the event of Joe Lewis’ death. his wealth & estate gets passed to his daughter… who actually has an interest in Spurs, unlike him!!

Woolwich have backed Farteta that`s for sure, we stole CL qualification off them last season, yet they went on to have a better transfer window than we did. They improved their first XI and squad, whereas Spurs improved the squad depth but failed to upgrade key areas of the first XI. So much for CL qualification giving us a head start in the transfer market, we operated in a similar way as we always do, with Richarlison the only big money signing, who was no doubt signed with a view to Kane leaving this summer anyway.

ENIC, Lewis and Levy have taken Spurs as far as they can, the football club needs a complete reset from the very top, a change of mentality and somebody to take over who is prepared to invest to make us challengers, otherwise we will just get left behind.

Billy, every season they improve one part of the team and never the other. So this season for instance, we are still left with a dog s** defence. They never back a manager fully. Under Levy/ENIC when have you ever been completely satisfied with a transfer window? I think maybe once or twice at the top of my head

Some kind eulogy or ode to Arteta and Arsenal is this? The ones who despite everything written in here frpm "Spurs" fans, always tend to finish below Spurs?
