Back to the OP, it would've been the closest thing to Fergie's Fledglings that we've had.

Push Rashford forward and play Bruno with Garnacho and Greenwood, I would have loved to see that lineup. I really hope Greenwood plays for us again. If we need to spend 85mil for a player like Antony, no idea how much it would cost to replace Greenwood.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I really hope he doesn't. But it's a shame.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you saying he’s guilty!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of what?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well obviously you believe everything you’ve seen and heard if you’re saying that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rdd666??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who’s Rdd666? And what is the point you’re trying to make?

Being convicted by a court of law based on a high burden on the prosecution to prove beyond doubt that he has committed a crime as the law specifically defines is one thing. Being fit to represent our club and expect our support and adulation is another. If anyone listens to those recordings and is okay with him playing for United if the courts don't convict, they have clearly been consuming too much content targeted at the incel community. In fact, wistful 'what if' posts like the OP are pretty distasteful, framing what has taken place as our loss. We fans are not the victims in this scenario.

Thank you

I'm willing to hear what if any explanation he offers and the outcome of the case before I decide if I'd like him to play for us again or not.

Surely this should be the case for everyone.

Technically, Greenwood isn't guilty of anything, yet.

What happens to him if he is innocent? Will be interested to see how City handle the Mendy situation if he is cleared of the remaining charges.

I suspect Greenwood and Mendy will be let go of their clubs in any case.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A disgrace if Mendy is cleared from final charges and let go by City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really, a player whose been out of football for over 12 months isn't expected to be the same player afterwards, especially at elite level
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What about those coming back from bad injury? Shaw for example.

Not really. Unless it is shown the voice is not his, then for me that's enough to say he should not play for us.

Exactly. So until we know if that is the case (highly unlikely I know) surely we should reserve judgement?

As he's never denied it's his voice I think we can take it that it is. If wrong no harm done, he's not been fired and presumably picking up his ten grand a week.

Im just saying we don't know what's going to come out so reserve judgment. No points for going early.

If Greenwood is proved innocent and that's a big (I think he's not unlike Mendy) then there's no reason why he shouldn't play for us. We have players like Giggs who have done far far worse and are still revered.

He’s finished at United.

What does ‘proved innocent’ mean to you, because there’s no such legal finding in England.

Assuming a prosecution follows, the two potential determinative outcomes are that:

- the defendant is found guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt, of one or more charges;

- the defendant is found not guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt, of all charges.

Being found not guilty of a charge is not the same as being found innocent.

No reason? Of course there is. Millions of reasons. You've got to be pretty daft not to be able to figure it out. He's done at United. I'll be absolutely amazed if he ever plays for United again, irrespective of the verdict.
