I respect Arsenal's modus operandi. Business gets out of hand very quickly if you discard your principles.
Should we want it to change though? Chelsea are buying another very expensive left winger a few months after they bought a very expensive left winger who the manager plays as wing back. They also have added yet another CB for big money, again months after buying 2 other very expensive CBs who have done pretty badly for one reason or another. They also have signed a couple of strikers to replace the couple of strikers they recently bought for massive money. All to sit in 10th, and probably with their manager getting sacked again soon.
On the other hand, we have slowly and quite brilliantly built a team challenging for the title with a mixture of good signings and youth development. A sustainable method of getting to the top without spending stupid amounts and sacking managers every few months.

Well, we'll see, I don't think we have the squad depth to challenge for the title later in the year, we are going to have to get very lucky with injuries if that is going to happen.
We have barely seen ESR, Tomi has rarely been fit, Jesus is out for 3 months, Tierney and Zinchenko have a time share on a hospital bed, Nelson is out, how many injuries do we have to have to not be considered "lucky"?

He wanted to sign for Arsenal. But you're up against an absolute mentalist and that mentalist will give him the money he craves. I do find this Chelsea spending thing weird though. They surely are spending way way more than what is allowable. They weren't shy in spending seasons.
Time will tell, but this we can spend 400 million in two windows attidtude seems not in keeping with what you'd expect. I wonder if Boehly is spending his club into extinction.
On the bright side, he might guide them into the top 9 this year
I'm reading Chelsea have offered him 6 figures a week at least. We were only offering 40k. Can't blame the kid, although I think he'll ruin his career.
What they are spending now will kill them as a football club. They are operating on a different stratasphere. Boehly will spend, spend and spend some more. Then he'll run away and kill that football club, when it doesn't work

We've spent huge amounts over the last few seasons but you need to know when to pull out of a deal. Would be silly to pay so much for such an unproven player although and in 5 years it may well look like a bargain our only failing would be to not have options lined up.

I agree. We know why he's going to Chelsea. They live in a fantasy world and paid what the club wanted.
