Michael Beale insists Allan McGregor is still the best keeper in Scotland after he helped Rangers into the Viaplay Cup final.

"In my opinion he is the number one goalkeeper in Scotland and I think we are not far off from having that with the other couple that we have in the building."

"I thought he showed it again on Sunday. He was a little bit angry he had to do a little bit more than what he would like to have done."

Splendid!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bizarre. He has undoubtedly been a brilliant keeper for us in the past, but that's just it, in the past. His best days are behind him. Time to move on and retain his status.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was asked about the keeper, he is hardly gonna say he is past it and should be hanging up his gloves ffs

Rangers are 11th for percentage of shots on target saved (including blocks). Celtic 1st.

Partially down to playing Sands and King for so long but it definitely shows there is a problem.

Clean sheets as a percentage of matches played is interesting. Not that it holds much weight in the who is the best keeper debate as neither of the top 2 have hit 10 games.

1. McLaughlin 62.5%
2. Clark 60%
3. Hart 42.9%

It’s the exaggerating. He could have easily said he’s the best keeper you have atm and is definitely good enough for youz. Why the need to bring in the rest of the league? Screams insecurity.

He over-egged it. Even some of your fellow rangers fans think so. Talk is cheap, and even cheaper when it is the nonsense that Beale comes out with 👍

When asked Mrs Silver said she was married to the best husband in Scotland. Even the two other guys she fancies are probably in the top 3 in Scotland.

Insecurity.

And gin.

Partially down to Celtic playing a high press and being vulnerable on the break with FBs posted missing in the middle of the park.

This is an easy game.

Back a few seasons ago when a player was one on one with McGregor or in a decent shooting position I would be thinking its 50/50 this is a goal. Now I actually expect him to contribute to a goal against Rangers with either a flap at a cross or being slow in his reaction. one on one I favour the striker strongly now. A good example was Jota's chip against Rangers lovely finish but McGregor barely moved and its was not that far above his head.

Mcgregor was very poor for that goal.

never even rushed out the technical area to close him down. made it far too easy for Jota. Just sat there on the bench watching on

Was it? Point stands though I think he has regressed due to age where once you honestly though schite McGregor will probably stop this to don't fancy him to make a huge difference in the game. Was at his best worth 10-15 points a season for Rangers with his performances, not so much now.

well for all our troubles this year at cb (played the majority of our games with 0 fit natural centrebacks, changed manager etc) Rangers have only conceded 3 more goals than celtic 10-15 points is bit of a stretch IMO.

Nope, not having that. Your injuries are 100% GvBealeball tactics so fck yeez and short / fat / cockney mess rookie managers and sold yer expensive duds, those ones too.

That's how it went 21-22, right?

So Celtic have the best “highest” percentage of shots saved with Hart playing practically every game, yet you question as to why he’d be rated the best keeper in our leagues?

Interesting. Workings would be nice

The stat includes blocks from defenders so no workings to give on pure keeper saves.

I would question it because i think he's dodgy but again the calibre of keepers in the league is as low as i can remember so i can understand if some people want to make a claim for him being the best.

There are keepers who would be doing better if they had the best defence thus far ahead of them would be my argument.

Another bid in for Morgan Whittaker.

9 goals and 7 assists in 25 games in League 1 this season. Good to see we are going after a right winger, Matondo appears to be a complete right off after 6 months..

He's not played as a striker all season.

Watching clips of him, he looks like a winger

just seen his full name .... Morgan Freeman Whittaker.

but according to transfermarkt he has played 76 gmes on the right in his career and 32 through the middle as either the striker or just off the striker.

think he is 6'2, quick strong and mobile, I think if he was already with us he would be playing up top ahead of morelos.
