Forster can do no worse than Captain Idiot. At least he is built like a goal keeper. Hugo looks like a tennis player.

Does anyone have much confidence in our second choice keepers? I still fancy Lloris over Forster, or Hart before him, or the keeper before him who had such little impact I forget his name. They might seem like good ideas on paper until they play.

Gazzaniga was the same with mistakes. The fact is all GKs make mistakes. Look at De Gea last season at United.

It’s when the mistakes outweigh the positives. That is becoming the case with Lloris. We would do well for Hugo’s replacement to contribute to Spurs as much as he has.

There aren’t many top top GKs out there. The next one will have to be carefully thought out.

Luka I get the feeling if it was down to you all our players would be built like Neville Southall in his later days

Gazzaniga was one of our better second choice keepers. There was a period in which he looked very solid and could arguably have been ahead of Lloris on merit.

I had been reserved on the keeper situation and was willing to overlook the few mistakes Lloris had in his game to see that as not a priority position. But you can't get away with those sort of mistakes in the Arsenal game. I'd go as far as saying it's his worst mistake to date.

So in the summer we can look at a possible 1st choice replacement, and hopefully also another one for the future.

Yes Spurtle I agree. I just will always respect Lloris though. He has been a joy to watch over the years. And I say for the vast majority of fans that will be the case.

He has been brilliant for us mate so I'll be sad to see the back of him, unlike others who I'll be happy to.

King Jose had the right idea about us "needing to be caaants". To be fair we are, we just happen to be useless ones.

We have lots of natural leaders in my opinion.

PEH would be the obvious one if Kane doesn't have a long term future.

Lloris is a good captain and is respected at both international and club level.

With Kane out that leaves:

Son
Hojbjerg (Strong contender)
Bentancur (Strong contender)
Skipp
Romero
Dier

I would be happy with Romero funnily enough, however Hojbjerg and Bentancur are the frontrunners for me.

Couldn’t help but laugh out loud at Son
