Surely, but it happens to us more often than not. A clean sheet was essential last night, especially after the HT score. As someone else stated (another thread), the 2nd half was a 2-2 draw with a team nearly in League 1. Not good enough.
A win last night was essential. Clean sheet a bonus.
Overall it was a good performance from the guys - as it was against Villa - we just lacked clinical edge. There are signs for me this team is improving. We aren't getting blown off the park by any teams. Do need some wins now though .....
op, no they don't
it was a cup game means nothing, lads just got a bit slack when winnig 5-0
We have serious options now going forward and we have looked brilliant last 2 games in that area
If we can sort the defence out we will be a very good side, I'm just not sure Jesse can do it
Yes, I said last night those Cardiff goals mean nothing and I maintain that position this morning because we dominated the game so completely.
Bill screwed up - it happens, he's human - and Roca was just unlucky. I don't think that's anything to give cause for worry.
However, you do have a point with regard to defensive frailty more generally - PL opposition has and will exploit that. Is Wober the answer?

Sure, but it’s that bit of slack that still needs sorting out. Hopefully Jesse will do it.

I think Wober looks really promising. Fingers crossed👍.
Why was ayling even playing that position?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed👍
Like LIW says, one goal slipped through a players leg and the other was a dodgy pen!..
So if Ayling had shut his legs instead off trying to count his balls it wouldn't have got through!..
Mind, he could have moved his shin and given a corner!..
And the pen, all well seeing things and commenting afterward's, but think on, moving any part off the body the ball moves just as fast and in some cases faster!..
A split second and your beer will hit the deck before you can catch it!..
And Wober, why cant anyone spell his name correctly?..
Ayling has never been great at CB - not sure why he gets played there. I thought Wober looked composed in his minutes on the pitch. Koch, Struijk and Cooper weren't playing so it was hardly our first team defence. Llorente didnt do too bad and even Firpo got some positive comments.
And Wober, why cant anyone spell his name correctly?..

wober that's the best i can do germany.
Struijk had a knock… could have played but no need to risk him given the score.
Mont, does that mean you're no worst than the English TV channels, because from the football I've seen they can't spell it either!.
It's rather annoying because my name has a..u..in it and some German's spell it with a..ü..!.
It cant be fun him seeing his name misprinted!..

“Surely, but it happens to us more….”
Only one clear reason why it does…..Think we got shafted by that woman Revie brought in to lift the curse…… don’t think she were proper Romany….🤔☹️
When are we ever going to have left to right Firpo, Ayling, Llorente and the Viking as our starting back four?
By the time they scored our players were thinking about Sunday. Game was over - they switched off for the first and the second was a very soft penalty to give.
It wouldn’t be Leeds though if a game went by without a VAR decision against us. At least we got one going our way last night.
Annoying we let the score? Yes
Worried when we had Ayling at CB and Llorente next to him? No. That’s not a combo we will be using often unless we have to due to injuries.
Tell you what though - Firpo can play a bit.
We have, a Danish international, a Spanish international, a German internatonal, an Austrian international and a Scottish international as our line of defence, on paper, we are stronger there than any other area. We should be doing better.
If we get that sloppy attitude sorted (Jesse- that’s down to you pal), we can still make Europe this season.

No you really can’t.

Okay ... we'd need to go pretty much unbeaten - mathematically of course possible - but not happening. Personally i'd settle for a mid-table, relegation fight avoiding, remainder of the season. This squad, survival and summer investment and we can start looking further upwards ..........
12th looks the best Leeds can achieve. They won’t go down because they’ve got enough goals in the team.
