Very weird
the good thing is our needs are very obvious.
our attack is the best its been in years. real depth.
maybe bamford will be able to stay injury free with less need to play him all the time. impact sub may be great for his career.
Yep, sort the defence and we could make Europe this season๐๐.
Bamford looked completely "shot" when he made a couple of sub appearances before his operation. I was genuinely worried that he was finished, but last night he looked seriously composed and back to his best.
I'm happy to see a smile back on his face.
Apart from our clowns in defence, the only tiny disappointment for me was that Sinisterra didn't look like he was in the game when he came on. Hopefully he's just rusty.
Bamford had been completely written off by
quite a few fans here
^^^^^
I did.
It's not Bamford's ability that I wrote off. It's his
availability. Or lack thereof. His injury record
speaks for itself. But, so does that sweet left foot
and his high football IQ.
When he's available there's no question he's
a solid player. And touch wood, it looks like the
club is managing his fitness well. The new lads
have really taken the pressure of him. He's not
the one and only option. He's one of many.
It's very good to see him fit again and scoring.
Now, he's either a great impact sub. Or he rotates
in as a starter. Rodrigo's having a great season.
He still starts for me. Add Rutter who we're yet
to see play and where exactly. And we could be in
great shape for the rest of the season.
Great business by the club >
OUT > Ralph & KP - 100 mill
IN > Tyler (future Captain/#4) & Gnonto - 23.5 mill
Tyler's not KP. He's different. But excellent.
He keeps us ticking and has been a crucial addition.
Gnonto's not Raph. But, he is a wrecking ball
who changes games like Raph did. Star.
One other thought, Llorente doesn't look like a player
who has good body balance to me.
He makes raking swings at the ball. And he always
seems to lose his balance. Falling backwards or to his
side every time. It's almost always with his right instep.
He looks like he's dragging his foot through and his
body position is off. Awkward. Which makes routine
passes look like hard work.
Technically, he might be the worst striker of a ball I've
seen. Eye test is awful. Still, he did alright last night.
It's a tough one with Llorente. With him in the team we move the ball from defence to midfield much more easily (although this may have been the oppo) but there is always a chance of a defensive calamity.
Happy I wrote this!..

And what a signing Gnonto is!..

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Same with Jesse - those who can’t let Bielsa go just use anything they can to blame JM.
Last night we were in complete control. The two goals conceded were not down to poor tactics but down to two individual errors. That can’t be coached unfortunately. If it could be then players would need to be robots.

Whilst there definitely is some of that, there is a valid point in wanting Jessie sacked. Imo I hope our form holds off so we can at least get to the end of the season before sacking him.
If Bielsa can get sacked, so can Jesse.
He has to earn the right to stay in his job by
winning/getting points in the bank. And showing
improvement/ consistency. Mainly, at the back.

Agree totally, whilst I have been critical of him, and at times wanted him sacked.
I actually like guy, just dont listen to his interviews, he tries too hard. But he cares and genuinely desperate to do well.
Hope he can get abit of momentum behind him with some wins.

Agree with this - sometimes his passing can be top drawer. Its just his defensive frailties that let him down. Always thought maybe hes more suited to the teams in Europe than the EPL
If we beat Brentford, we're going to fly...Gnonto is an inspiration, what a player, so smart and focused and willing to play. Bamford was super.

For me wanting Jessie gone has absolutely nothing to do with bielsa.
They are like night and day.
Bielsa was a genius, marsch not so much.
Did the fans change the Willie chant?
Saw this on FB and liked it.
Willie Gnonto…Willie Gnonto…cost us 4 million, he’s worth a billion…the profit is massive!
I wonder what would be if a 30...40...60mil bid came in for Gnonto now, would we want the money or him?..
I'd think every club in the Premier are taking notice, and a lot outside off England!..
The window is wide open but I'd want him to stay, but if a offer did come in it just might take his mind away!..
Or tempt the club!..
Gnonto is like Yeboah and Alioski’s love child!
Our attacking options are excellent. Where is our record signing going to fit in?
Thing with Marsch is could he be like Arteta? Give him enough time with his players and they start to gel and we get something special next season?
Brentford feels like a turning point for Jesse. Win it, and we can prepare with confidence for the crucial games ahead. Lose, and we are stuck on spaghetti junction with every exit pointing to the Championship.
He is sounding very defensive and he talks too much about the criticism he is getting, and the position he is in. This is not doing him or the team any good, and it certainly adds plenty of fuel to the flames. Can someone sit down with him and tell him to STFU?
I am in the 'Marsch out' camp, but in the past two games, I have seen a glimmer of what he is hoping to achieve. Our attacking play is glorious to watch and gets better with each game.
However, the defence is dreadful. I wonder what would have happened if that Cardiff goal just before half time had been allowed. It was a perfectly good one in my view. Notwithstanding this, the fact that Cardiff, who couldn't score in a brothel, put the ball in the net three times at Elland Road, rings alarm bells for me. The worst side we could be playing now is Brentford, probably the most efficient side in the Premier League. They will sit back and wait until they can pass through our lines. If anyone thinks Mbuemo, Toney and Wissa are going to be merciful on Llorente, Ayling and Firpo, they are clearly deluded. By the way, those who say Firpo and Llorente were ok against Cardiff obviously ignored the number of times they were outrun or turned by low-level Championship players.
It will be a fascinating contest. How bad would a draw be for Jesse and Leeds?

Conte might be available soon! Just lost the second half 4-0.
