Bielsa would be better off waiting until the summer and seeing what lower prem clubs and bigger championship clubs are available. People are comparing Everton to Leeds, but they are comparable to Leeds in 2004.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like so many people who didnt have the privilage and pleasure of seeing Marcello Bielsa's work, week in and week out close up, you are underestimating the ability and calibre of the great man.
I can understand why, as the media is flooded with lazy punditry and awash with shallow analysis on the endless stream of football coverage we are subjected to every day.
However there is a reason that he has hundreds of thousands of followers from nearly all of his previous clubs worldwide who follow his progress, whatever league he is involved in. He's not just a legend at Leeds!
In my opinion he could manage any club in the premier league (not just the lower teams) and be sucessfull. there were many and varied reasons why Leeds had a fairly disasterous second season in the PL, many of them not down to Bielsa's management.
However, one thing that Bielsa does need I think is a pre season to sort out fitness and tactics, hence my agreeing that Everton as it stands would be a bad choice for him.
Whether he could or not isn’t that relevant. Because either he won’t want certain clubs or they won’t want him. So lower prem/upper championship seems most likely if he wants to continue in England.

Not sure I follow that logic but I appreciate the point you make.
It’s an irrelevant debate in any case.
Was just making a point that Bielsa could IMHO manage successfully at any level in the premiership.
I mean in the sense that his capabilities as a coach don’t really inform what clubs he’s ended up at. The conditions need to be right for him to go to certain clubs, which rules out many, but then for similar reasons clubs would rule him out for not wanting to meet his conditions anyway.
It’s always made him a fascinating character, because he’s never really followed the obvious progression in his coaching career to go the very biggest clubs.
It’s why I think the lower prem clubs or higher championship clubs would be more likely. They’d be more willing to change for his demands, whereas it doesn’t seem likely he’d change for the demands of say a club like Tottenham, whom are one of the few clubs in the top half that will be looking for a new manager in the summer, I suspect.

Bang on.
He reportedly turned down a few very big clubs including Barca.
He likes clubs like Leeds, still have a fairly local and passionate fan base, not a brand and the right kind of challenge for him to apply all of his methods from every aspect and tiny detail without any kind of obstacle in his way from the board.
He’d turn down Everton as there nothing to work with, poor fitness, no pace and poor attacking players with a board who don’t have a clue.
Thing is him.
He makes you fall in love with football, like when your kid.
Unless he’s managed your club, you’ll never understand.
Incredible manager
Will be interesting to see what his next move is either way. I did read a while back some international teams were interested as well.

It was weird. When he began with Leeds and I saw how he conducted his business, I felt inspired by him.
The fact that someone I'd never met and hadn't heard of before managed to inspire me at a fundamental level made me wonder what it must be like to work alongside the man.
He's far more than a manager - he transformed the entire ethos of the club for the better.
