Remember when people were telling us the spending would stop when Abramovich left? Six months later FFP are rewriting the rules to stop us spending
"Yeah - go get him, because we just don't have enough wingers, do we?"
Don't be so naive to take every rumour as fact.
This is a case of an individual putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5.
Nothing in the report states that club will definitively rekindle a move either.
Someone could even be putting it out there using our historic interest as leverage, to speed up Newcastle move for Gordon.

The difference is with Roman it seemed like there was a plan, under Boehly you are just faaaacking mental buying anyone with a pulse.
With these long contracts - what happens a couple of years from now when some of these guys don’t work out - who you moving them to?
Also Anthony Gordon is terrible - his speed alone will probably be enough for a Prem career but he is just a younger Dwight McNeill
comment by Striketeam7 - the smartest person you know - Bronze medal khunt 2022 - Buy..Bellingham and another mid 20s Thiago type...lets just call him "frank" (U18109)

Other clubs by selling them?
And that wasn't the point. People continue to make presumptions about us & consistently get proven wrong. I'm actually a little surprised I've not heard "Boehly will get bored in a few years" more, circling back to the original classic

Lol it was exactly the same under Roman, don't kid yourself. There was no masterplan, we just tried to get the very best and biggest players we could and whatever worked worked. You can't tell me there was masterplan behind us signing Juan Veron for example.
At least now it's clear that we're trying to buy the very best players of tomorrow and working towards having a better side over the coming seasons. That's not difficult to see surely.
Striketeam just saying whatever nonsense suits him tbh. Yeah you were all in awe of Roman’s plan apparently except when you mocked his spending on the countless flops
These crybabies will say anything won’t they

So true that, I couldn’t understand a lot of the Abramovich signings personally.

To be fair now this FFP loophole we're exploiting has been made more clear it's not hard to see why it's young players we're targeting. You're not gunna give a 25 y/o+ player an 8-9 year deal are you?
It might be the intention anyway but he doesn't really have a choice.
Yeah, but you won't give a 25+ yo player that amount of money. These things even each other. So the choice is, big money long period or less money shorter term
