Just googled him, apparently Villareal spent €25m on him 18 months ago. That's a lot of money to them, how come they're happy to loan him out now?

Exactly. It's so weird. Someone should remind them it's January and we have a manager that doesn't want to commit beyond the rest of the season. Why should we take risks with an obligation to buy a player for a man that is very likely to not be here in a few months? These fans aren't being fair. Sure, Levy has been a tight arrrrrse down the years but this is not one of those times. I think it makes perfect sense given the circumstances.

he got 16 goals and 5 assists across la Liga and the CL last season which is pretty good for a winger at a 7th placed side

reports are that Conte wants a CM, RWB and FWD this window - we are not signing a centre back people

That’s a good point as well - no mention of Villa interested despite losing some attackers this month. You’d imagine Emery would’ve been privy to his exit also.

Which is stupid as we were happy to spend in the summer when Conte had a year left. We were happy to take Conte on knowing it might only be 18 months. So you bloody can blame Levy for that.

Also, I don’t care what manager we have - there isn’t one in world football who wouldn’t say we need a new CB

I don't like this signing unless it's replacing someone like Moura.

Obviously a pure last minute Levy signing given he'd basically signed for Everton yesterday.

If it doesn't have any impact on the rest of our potential deals then fine, but we currently have poor quality defenders and keeper starting every week, all funds should be addressing this first.

That’s easy, what I wanted was the club during the World Cup to prepare for this window - speak to Conte, ask him what he wants - if he wants to go big on a player this window then sign a contract. Otherwise fall back on Paratici and the DOF POV for consistency for the next manager.

I cannot believe that would not involve a CB, not in a million years.

Secondly - we weren’t interested in Danjuma yesterday, so why now? zero planning. Add in this probably means no Zaniolo and we have been faaacked all round again with a cheap deal

We need a CB, RWB and a creative central midfielder.... Dunno anything about this guy... assuming he's cheap & low risk... stinks of typical last min Levy Jan transfer.. would like us to sign someone who actually upgrades the first 11

Point is Chris.. Emery will have know all about this player. Just strange that was no talk of a move to Cilla seeing as it was financially low risk. Also if he was willing to move to Everton the player would’ve considering Villa I’m sure also.

I don’t mind we are getting more personnel in. But it has to be the right personnel. If he was identified as the right type of personnel to improve the squad we would’ve heard something before now. The reason I am so annoyed is because it confirms for me, the club hasn’t a plan. It’s very much impulsive. Which rarely works.
