Must be running low on cash.

Chelsea spend about half a billion signing young players. Give them Mourinho to manage them.

More chance of Roman buying the club back.

Much respect for Jose and his past at Chelsea, in order to maintain that respect it's essential he doesn't come back

He became a liability - not going to happen hopefully!

Zero chance that the Boehly group would appoint a past it Mourinho. What would be the upside for them ? Funny how much buzz this has got though.

He must be stopped.

Spurs would be a better fit for Jose now.

Arsenal need to put rumours out that they're hiring mourinho, boehly will not be able to resist.

And still wouldn't be the most tone deaf appointment this year once Spurs hire Sarri

posted on 28/1/23

Sarri would be a decent appointment for Spurs I reckon.

It would make Benitez & Chelsea look like a good partnership. Literally can't think of another manager who'd be less welcome there right now other than Lampard

Portuguese

Useless

Boring football

Ideal for Wolves

I think you underestimate how many Spurs fans would just like to see their team have possession of the ball and look to attack. Mourinho, Nuno and Conte is enough to break a fanbase.

You're not looking at this deeply enough. They have no passers in their midfield (thanks to Conte) and Sarri is adamant about his teams not dribbling with it - the football would be an even cr@pper variant of SarriBall we had. It's one thing to pick up our scraps, it another level to literally copy our mistakes.

Oh, and as he's out of contract they'd probably sign Jorginho. Would go down splendidly as well

I think you are looking at it too deeply. The fans would welcome him because his teams have a history of playing good football (apart from Chelsea, but you make all your managers play crap football).

It’s not about what they can work with now either. Most Spurs fans want the squad ripping up. Sarri would be far more welcome than Mourinho was, and they even welcomed him.

Man speaks the truth

Sarri not really been mentioned much on the spurs board but would be welcomed

Anyone who plays to keep the ball and plays some football please ….rather than retreating against everyone

And they probably wouldn’t even need that many changes to have a group that would fit his needs. Based in what Spurs have now and are coming in:

New keeper
Porro Romero new cb Udogie
Bissouma Bentancur attacking mid
Kulusevski new striker Son

Defence would get raaaped but they could have a team that could hold possession, press high, have the full backs flying forward and play some fun, attacking football.

Fair enough

Well trust me you'd play cr@p football with him. If you think Conte's rigid you have no idea. It's a strange feeling having a manager where you can predict almost everything he's going to do - all his subs, how you'll play & how the opposition will exploit it every single match before the matches even happen. I kinda liked it cos it made me feel (falsely) knowledgeable, but it's not a good thing

Won't work. Needs more/different.

Bentancur would be more suited to the RCM Allan role. They'd need a different type of DM... enter Jorginho. And Son's an awkward fit, he's too direct, and not good enough as a playmaker to give a free role too like he gave to Hazard, and it would be an issue as SarriBall is very left side centric.

Now all these things for another manager wouldn't be such a problem but Sarri is so rigid. He'll make it an unnecessary problem!

I think you are trying too hard to map things onto one season at Chelsea and a couple of players with his best Napoli team, those teams were different. Lazio aren’t like those sides either, they actually don’t even dominate possession that often. Even managers that are rigid are more adaptable than fans think, especially when changing teams because they cannot simply replicate what they did before with different players.

I've not seen a single match of Lazio's over 90 minutes since he joined I will confess so he might've changed, but his Napoli & Chelsea played almost identically from a tactical standpoint. That's why our version of his football was so disjointed & weird - he was literally copy pasting & it didn't work mainly because of the midfield, and Spurs have the exact same problem in their current squad. We didn't have the no.8, Kante tried but just couldn't do what Allan could, and teams figured out quickly (the 1st was Spurs funnily enough) that once you cut off Jorginho the whole thing falls apart.

With Juventus he played with his 4-3-1-2 that he used prior to Napoli a bit more but it was a similar story in terms of the predictability. His thinking is very one dimensional & the PL continues attracting the best tacticians who will trap him. I'm joking about it but I'd be stunned if Spurs hired him in the first place, but even more stunned if it worked.

And seriously the ability the predict what he'd do was ridiclous. I'm sure we must've seen Kovacic for Barkley & vice versa in at least three quarters of the games was the most hilarious example
