Speaking of Kovacic & Sarri's rigidness, along with Kante back then that was two fantastic ball carriers who could break through presses to transition into attack. But Sarri being Sarri, dribbling isn't aloud unless there's no other alternative.

Kovacic looked like deadweight for Sarri because of that, has been one of our best players since

But I don’t agree they played identically, precisely because the players didn’t allow them to. Similar story with Juve. And the point isn’t about it being successful anyway. It’s about playing a better style of football than what Spurs do now. For that reason he would be welcomed by fans.

Sarri wamted to use 4-3-1-2 with 2 strikers n Insigne as a trequartista at Napoli butt after it ckearly not working in fursed phew! games, the players petsuaded him to go to 4-3-3

And my point is I doubt it would be better. Unless they bought in the exact players he targets (which Levy won't do, we both know this) it would be the same sideways rubbish we've experienced since Sarri.

The illusion the football might be better might con them. More fool them if it does

It sounds like you’ve not seen just how shiiiiit Spurs are to watch. They make Chelsea’s worst teams look entertaining.

I have. We're worse.

They do this really cool thing with they have the ball... they pass forwards

I much prefer watching Chelsea’s style of football currently. But it was more a reference to the aids stuff you played under Conte and Mourinho.

I reckon Spurs could go for Nagelsmann anyway. I think he’ll get sacked and replaced by Tuchel.

Why?

Our Conte & Mourinho teams played better football cos we had better players, that's true.

That would make sense if he gets sacked

Because it’s not the defensive shiiiiiit that Spurs play.

It's still defensive sh!t, we just have a lot of possession now. It's Van Gaal ball, keep the ball so the opposition can't score, not to score yourself.

The fact Spurs have scored almost twice as many goals & conceded more this season suggests watching them is a lot more fun than us, certainly for neutrals.

That’s because Kane is class and they are amazing at set pieces, not because of the style. The opposition at least provide entertainment.

I don’t think it’s like Van Gaal ball. We weren’t allowed to attack, you are just shiiiit at it but you at least try.

It's risk averse football. A lot of that might be the players as Mudryk exposed vs. Liverpool, but it's in the spirit of Van Gaal's philosophy even if it's not the intention. I'll take watching Mourinho/Conte's style over that any day as at least when you have the ball you intend to attack, even if it is in the ugliest way possible bypassing the midfield.

Spurs fans might be more receptive to it as pass & move is in their DNA as a club, even if in reality it's pass & stand still
