Either way Boehly and co. gets the job done and this will go down as one of the most productive winter windows. Sacking Tuchel was already a very important and necessary step...
Top marks if some of the deadwood are disposed of.
These long transfer sagas usually don’t go our way.
Under the previous that was the case.
I have no reason to believe under Boehly and co. this transfer won't materialise. Case study of their transfer dealings is enough evidence.

One of us will blink before the deadline. Benfica won't get this money again, and we have to do this deal now before the rule changes.
Be surprised if it didn't happen. Not shocked but surprised.

We've still not matched the release clause's value in instalments yet. That could easily happen, and Benfica would accept that.

Just seen it
That’s a lot of cash for a CM.. it’s a big gamble, hope it pays off
Fernandez wants out (whatever certain key figures amongst the club are feeding into these new players ears about the project, it is working tremendously).
Benfica are fundamentally a selling club.
Boehly means business.

In a window where we've paid 9mil for a half season loan & 60mil odd for someone no-one had heard of six months ago we might as well, the prudent spending sail has sailed.
In for a penny in for a pound & all that

9 mill for 6 mths is nowhere near what atleti paid they paid 130 mill for 4 year contract thats 16 million every 6 months.
With Enzo and new signings maybe plan is to go full out for ECL, which if won would recoup much of the spendings.
With Enzo surely we will be serious contenders.
I prefer "prudent spending",a perfect phrase for us !
I think the plan is simply to make us a challenger again. The aim is to get us noticed, build for the future and to win things but not necessarily this season. If we do win anything then simply the only thing we could win is the ECL, that would be a massive task, but hey, we are Chelsea.
Feelings of optimism are starting to appear ,
if I'm not mistaken !
if we do get enzo then i think a new contract for kante would be super as he wouldnt be forced to play full out for 100% of the games and what a pairing that would be in front of the back four.

I like the cut of this guy’s jib. Mudryk looks promising from very little I have seen him play for us. I have a suspicion Felix will do well for us, could’ve made the difference against Liverpool
Seriously what is going on with Chelsea and the spending.
This is worst than Roman spending sprees.
It's insane
