Absolutely..... pure speculation on my part.... Like I said, I hope this is what they are doing.
I just like the irony of another club behaving like its reported Levy does in transfer deals
OP
You are just guessing fella. You haven't got a clue.
We have good reason to think this stumbling block is down to Levy one way or another.
Be a joke if this doesn't happen. Just pay up for him ffs.

11/8 with sky to join City now. Grim.
Thats just it, the fans, the only ones who really suffer never get to know anything until a deal is done or conformed as collapsed.
Obvs they cant go revealing legal or fiscal issues willy nilly but it would be great if clubs sometimes let the fans know just a wee but more than they do

all this and if he did sign the cvnt would turn out to be a flop, get injured or not be played by Conte anyway
It doesn't matter if the stumbling block is directly down to Levy or not, the point is that the Sporting owner is clearly giving Levy a taste of his own medicine. We've haggled to a point where we've annoyed the selling club. Keeping them onside is all part of how business should be run. It's a bit like a rookie on The Apprentice, desperate to sell something, suddenly upsets the buyer who, until that point, was prepared to put the money up. People renege on all sorts of deals for reasons beyond financial so, whilst he might be a shrewd operator in some senses, he's also bordering on autistic with his people skills. That can undo all the good work negotiating can do.
I've no doubt that this one going tiiiits up has a lot to do with Levy, albeit not directly. It's just difficult to prove.

I believe this too. Although reports suggest they are reneging on an already agreed deal, you get the feeling it's as a result of Levy being who he is and operating the way he does.
This could be a make or break moment for him as well. Does he even know how hated he is by fans at the moment?
It is absolutely NOT anything that DL has done. Sporting are trying to get every ounce of Euros out of us suddenly introducing an additional administration fee.
I think it is related to the fact that there is a “sell on” incorporated and Man City will get something like £12m from the deal, hence Sporting trying to gazump Spurs for more money at the 11th hour despite us agreeing to let him play in the Portuguese Cup Final against Porto on Saturday.
Can anyone remember if it was Sporting or Porto we tried to buy Moutinho from in around 2010. I know for a fact that they made extra demands after everything had been agreed. Levy refuses to play those games. Sometimes I wish we were more like Chelsea and just paid up but I can also understand as I would want to tell someone to shove it if they tried that with me.

Well actually it is something he has done. The release clause expired 12 days ago. If we'd gone in early, we wouldn't have to deal with this mess. Plus we'd have actually had a decent RWB for the recent run of games.
Also, you can't say with any certainty that it's not something DL has done. The only thing we can be certain of is that he DID have a release clause as that's now public info. We also KNOW how Levy operates. It's well documented that people hate negotiating with him. When you factor those things in, whilst it might not be beyond reasonable doubt, a betting man certainly wouldn't be putting any money on his innocence in all this.

We don't know how negotiations have gone up until this point. We've been interested in the player for a while so we know negotiations must have gone on a while too. Perhaps Levy was pulling similar tricks with them, they didn't like it, and then have tried doing the same thing right at the last. So it's tiiit for tat.
Either way I have little sympathy for Levy. We know many deals have collapsed due to his messing about. If it genuine isn't because of him then it's the boy who cried wolf scenario.

Again………..it is Paratici’s role as MD of football to oversee ALL transfer activity. DL is currently dealing with other areas of the Club such as finance, stadium naming rights and other non football operational aspects of THFC Ltd. That incorporates a vast amount of contractual matters including discussions about investment opportunities etc.

This is one occasion where Levy should just bite the bullet and pay up. He is Conte's main target, and Levy is walking on thin ice with fans already. We have done very little else in the window, and he seems a genuinely good player in a position that we need to strengthen.
At the end of the day he is their player who they'd rather hang on to, so you have to expect to play along with the selling club more than you would expect them to play along with you.
Could it be people don’t like dealing with Levy is simply because he is more astute and also a better business man than they areπ€
Tottenham Hotspur have hit a roadblock in their pursuit of Sporting’s Pedro Porro, as the Portuguese club reneged on terms of the proposed deal. Sporting changed the conditions of the deal right before signing the documents. According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are still working to resolve the issues and get the deal done before the transfer window closes.
