If it's Sunderland I would fancy us to get through and it would probably be shown live on BBC or ITV.
If it's Fulham... we can concentrate on the league!
I effing knew we'd be drawn away - so Fulham it is. It'll be one hell of a match though.
Shaun nice comparison to the Ben Franklin quote. Except for ordinary people taxes are far from being a certainty.
If Leeds plays Sunderland it will give the unimaginative press/media the chance to churn out dross about Leeds playing them, slavering about a repeat of the match, of which the players who will be playing will not have been born when the match was played
50 years ago Grey... I was only 5 and fortunately I was more interested in Batman and The Banana Splits so I never experienced the pain but I bet you were there Grey as a young man no doubt.. Montgomery heroics aside... How did we lose that game with the quality we had on the pitch?
Either tie is winnable, QF here we come,

Dave Watson (went on to play for Man City and England) … Dennis Tueart (went to Man City and played for England) … Micky Horswill (went on to Man City) … plus they had a marvellous manager in Bob Stokoe … basically, they were a good little side then. We should have trounced them tho’😥.

It was so long ago, I can barely remember the match. So, unless I watched a video of it, I have no idea. I can remember how much the media enjoyed Leeds losing. It is like the sealed knot, nutters reenacting battles from the English Civil War. People who need a life to live.
Couldn't be assed starting a thread so thought I'd put it here!..

For those that ain't seen it!..
As great as the Leeds team were as individuals, Don Revie never really let them off the leash and said, 'Go out there and enjoy yourselves.' They played more as a machine than as a form of self expression, which is partly why they were hated and, I believe, why they lost that game. They hadn't allowed for Sunderland's passion.
1973 was one of many heartbreaks of that era, in a time when the FA cup meant everything, and the quality of life at school that week was determined by 90 minutes on the pitch. For all of our successes, it is the failures that seem to resonate the most. Chelsea, Sunderland, West Brom, Bayern, Inter, to name a few. Fifty years later, I still feel a tinge of hatred towards these teams for the injustices done to us all those years ago, and no amount of revenge seems to dampen it.
Fortunately, our players will not be burdened by history and most of our fans have moved on from those heady days of the Revie era. We’ve got a good chance of progressing to the next round, but if it’s Sunderland, Leeds fans can expect the media to whip that ancient rivalry into frenzy.
Wish it was at home. Fulham away will be difficult. We never do great in London. Both winnable though I guess. Just wish it was at Elland road so I could be there

Yes I remember me and my mate going out that night, to drown our sorrows and wipe out the memory of the Sunderland defeat. But everywhere we went there seemed to be a TV showing the bloody highlights. In Brighouse most folk supported Halifax, Huddersfield or one of the two Bradford teams, so there was a lot of gloating. As you say, winning the FA Cup in those days was massive and it took a long time to get over it.

You were there, Stoopo? Are you still suffering from PTSD? I am, and I only saw it on tv!
Too young to remember Sunderland but I was baptised at Histon
