My Favourite was the triple cartridge that had streets of rage, Golden axe and shinobi. Thats a good 20 hours of playing time right there no wonder my mum got me it the minute it came out. Then the Mega CD what a heap of $hite that was. It was just we movies that took 2 hours to load. Did they not release an extension for the cartridge slot that meant you could play 32 bit Cartridge games. I think I had a playstation by the time that came out.
It was Motson wasnt it saying "Its a goal!"
Was it 98 that you could do a deliberate foul, always a striaght red as well. And you mow down the keeper. Again straight red.
Golden Axe was amazing. 2 player, you and your mate doing an all nighter playing it. In those days I was happy with a few litres of Irn Bru on a Sat night
Haha Papac when i heard the golden axe music recently 15 years on it gave me bad thoughts of when i played it so i refuse to play it! I could never jump that bridge near the end. Would miss it by 1mm, used half my lifes to get over.
Mow down keeper when frustrated at a bad pass from Prodan
The first football game I ever had, it must have been either for the Atari or the very first Nintendo it was that long ago, the best team in it was...
USSR!!!
Just googled it there... Nintendo World Cup, came out May 1990 was the dogs baws...
I have heard of the snez? Some people had that but dont think it was as good as sega mega.
This wasn't even the SNES Raman this was the NES, it looked like a breezeblock, and weighed as much as one as well
funny you should say that, yesterday when the fifa 95 thread was going about the first game it also reminded me of was 'streets of rage' love that game!
I remember the two big lanky bosses you fight with the metal claws on there hands
Auchinairn mind the elevator level when going up floor fighting whoever came out. But you could call the police and they would shoot a rocket fire grenade up to help
Ramans, aye a remember that bit, mind the big baldy boss ye used to fight at the end.
was brilliant when you called the police, used to fire right back to start show you the police then they would fire big missiles haha
Im goiny try download it for the pc
Haha aye camera would move for ages if you were near the end. You got a ps3? Can buy a disc with the games on it. You can get it on the p.c too but it will be more difficult to play without a controller
Wullie just searched ebay there are tons of NES's on sale ranging from 30 quid and up. Looks like.....i dunno really 1985 it first went on sale.
Some of my Mega Drive memories, other than the ones mentioned above:
World Cup Italia 90
Desert Strike
Toe Jam and Earl (what was the point of that???)
European Club Soccer (think it was called Man United Europe on Amiga)
James Pond II: Robocod
Micro Machines 2
Mortal Kombat
NBA Jam
and the hardest game ever known to man...The Terminator...dont think I EVER got by the first level!!
And aye the big boss at the end was pretty solid. If you were two player you had to fight each other so only one would fight the boss as he sat in his chair always used to let my wee brother kill him before i took on the boss, what a shame now looking back . Hot police girls with whips. You could get some life by eating a turkey.
world cup italia 90
the game of legends
The first football game I played was world cup carnival on the commodore 64. Showing my age
http://gamesdbase.com/game/commodore-64/world-cup-carnival.aspx
I had the first Fifa as well International. I always remember Quatar being the lowest ranked team and if you stood in front of a goalkeeper taking a goal kick you always scored!
I remember the police women with the whips, you used to smash the phone box up and turkeys would come out for extra life haha
desert strike
what a game! I was playing this last year, downloaded it for the pc
Desert strike was brilliant!
Also loved flight sims on my C64 though F15 strike eagle and stealth fighter. Who can forget Jet set willy?
European Club Soccer - i loved that game.
Guaranteed way to score a goal was class - chip the ball on the rim of the centre circle and a header from the edge of the box, through the flapping arms of the keeper
Worms
class game
Kamiiiiikazzzeeeeeeee
duck hunt for the nintendo 1
duck hunt - hahaha classic. Better with the gun controller!
yeah mb the guncontroller was the best for it
sensible soccer was the one were the names were all wrong
roberto larcos - roberto carlos
I had fifa 98 for the N64, it had a button if you pressed got u sent off automatically!!
Also i remember if you scored with a team like kilmarnock or something the player would still do a treble soumersault!! Imagine seeing that week in week out in the SPL.
