Oh this is gonna be epic in about 3 months when Potter is binned cos the players still aren’t clicking. It’s so obvious your club doesn’t have a cohesive transfer strategy - it’s like Moshiri is running you FFS π
--------------------------------------------------------------
I dunno why you care? For fans like you this is a no lose situation.
If this backfires in our faces, which I'm fully aware it could, we deserve to be bantered. If it works & we start competing at the very top again in a few years... well it's all fake innit, the trophies don't count cos we bought them (even though when Abramovich left we'd be f@cked apparently).
Jesus wept football is officially fecked.
Had to be the yanks as well.
Spent more than the 4 top leagues in Europe combined.
Good luck Potter, you have been bum holed big style.
Chelsea have had their pants pulled down on this one.

When the anal experts arrive to utter , you simply know that something earth shattering has occurred....
Lots of talk of pants being pulled down and people being bum holed big style by anal experts.
£580m spent on players. Another £30m+ on sacking Tuchel/hiring Potter.
If FFP is actually going to be applied that's pretty much 5/6 seasons of spending. So does this mean they basically need to break even for the next 5 years or so?
I think they'll regret all these signings. They've not signed anyone of proven quality, just promising young players.

What an idiotic statement..... This is getting so desperate...
Would be funny seeing Chelsea get bent over like this over and over if it wasn't driving the market prices up for everyone else.
Think they've probably done some decent business, with some duds. Think it will end up being pretty bad value for money all in all though.

We are just trying to do what you did but not take 10 years or so to do it. If you can and have owners committed to do it, why not?
Not many would have predicted Arsenal would top the league at this stage of the season including the more optimistic amongst their fans.
Doesn't seem as measured as the approach we've taken over the last 4 years though really. Just seems like you've tried to hoover up any young attacking talent regardless of the role they play or the price

It doesn't look like your approach over the last 4 years or prior to that. That was the point of my message. As for thr opinions of our signings they are perfectly acceptable unless proven otherwise, but if they are I doubt we will hear from you anyway.

Don't disagree with this on the surface, but tbf Enzo Fernandez (or someone like him) was needed. Maybe not right now but definitely by the summer, and that's if we'd kept Jorginho for now.
The price is horrific, but I'm not worried about him being a quality signing if you ignore that.
I don't have any issues admitting when I'm wrong! As it stands I'm glad we didn't get drawn into bidding wars with you, but time really will tell. I rate Potter highly and from what I can tell from his US teams, he'll give him time, which should give these players a good chance at success.

The implication was (at best) we'd get lambasted with an owner who didn't care about investing in the team, and as such have to suffer through the frustrations that came with that in contrast to living the charmed life with Roman as was perceived from the outside.
Those people have been categorially been proven wrong & you can tell by their deafening silence whenever Chelsea fans bring this up - if a reply does come the subject is changed to how cr@p we are at the moment, rather than just admitting they were off base there.

Benfica can’t believe their luck. Bought for 10mill in august and they get back 106mill. This is one of the greatest if not the greatest business deal in any sector ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
25% of the fee goes to River. I bet they never dreamed of such a huge payout this soon either. All told, it's an amazing markup for such a short space of time.
Our net spend in the past 5 years is about £160m higher than Arsenal’s and that’s even after including Enzo. An average of about £30m a year.
Why then are we seen as putting ourselves in financial trouble while Arsenal are seen as frugal, sensible market operators when we’ve had CL revenue for four of the last five years and they haven’t been in it since what 2016/17?
The wages of our most recent signings are decent as well, with incentivised contracts and even the other big money signing Mudryk is on £97k/week base.

I'd imagine it isn't just the quality of their scouting, but also the fact that the players then get the opportunity to prove themselves in a league where their clubs tend to be dominant and also to showcase their skills in the CL or at least EL for a few months.
Those kinds of opportunities are much harder to come by in the PL. Squads are much more stacked with talent and the pressures are huge.
