A great little horror movie that is one of the rare ones to actually scare me is an Argentinian one called Aterrados (Terrified). Highly recommended.

That’s tonight’s viewing
Resolution and The Endless (it's very loose follow up) are awesome, low budget sci fi films.

👍 Mads is a legend
Flashbacks of a Fool.
Quirky Brit film with grate music and a naked Emilia Fox.
difficult to know what counts as obscure, but looking at films i have rated highly over the past 12 months that are not household names i get:
you were never really here
a ghost story (2017)
images
distant voices, still lives
entertainment
black christmas (1974)
the day the earth caught fire
three days of the condor
the parallax view
never rarely sometimes always
morvern callar
only two can play
happy as lazzaro
primer
the future
me and you and everyone we know
a slient voice
and a special mention for the counselor, by ridley scott, which lots of people saw, and lots of people hated.
"you were never really here" was awesome, iirc.. Hardly any dialogue, right?

yeah, i love the director, and she's very visual, so most of her films are quite light on the chat.

Three Days of the Condor 👍
Three Days of the Condor is very good. Back when conspiracy theories were fun and not something that pays Le Tissier’s bills
Enemy of the State awesome too. One of Gene Hackman’s last great roles.
Near Dark, 1987 vampire yarn featuring half the cast of Aliens:
Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen and Jenette Goldstein.

This is a great chat about the movie.
Whenever I mention True Romance nobody has heard of it. Good movie.
Anyone seen Under The Skin? Somewhat mainstream due to having Scarlett Johansen getting neked, but a very cool little creature feature

great film, an odd mix of the very natural (i think some of her random encounters with scottish blokes were filmed without the blokes knowing what was going on) and the highly stylised, a real pity that the director has pretty much vanished since then .
The power of one (south African)
The void. Lovecraftian horror, went under the radar great effects
The Verdict
brilliant courtroom drama from the 80's. Paul Newman should have bagged the Oscar for it
State of Grace also from the 80's
Irish Mob movie with a great cast
Gary oldman, Sean Penn, robin wright etc
Great soundtrack aswell
Angel Heart
Alan Parker movie with de Niro and mickey Rourke
Tyrannosaur. A Paddy Considine masterpiece. Unbelievably bleak and depressing though.
Don’t be afraid of the dark (1973)
Going Off Big Time
Neil Fitzmaurice, Ray Von from Phoenix Nights. Peter Kay is in to.
THIEF (1980) James Caan. Dir: Michael Mann, his first film.
Saw it for the first time last year. Brilliant.
