Club is a mess. Conte was a terrible fit for manager. Despite his endless comments & don't believe he's committed or has any interest in being at Spurs & I'm sure he'll leave this summer.
Don't think we'll make top 4 or win a trophy and there will be a massive rebuild AGAIN this summer. I expect Conte, Paratici and Kane to leave with Levy applying the handcuffs to whichever poor sod takes the job.
Future looks rosy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only an idiot would say the club is in a mess, when they are 5th in the Prem, 5th round of the FA Cup, last 16 of the CL.
FFS not sure what so called supporters expect. Yes the football is not always pretty, but there is more than one way to play a game of football. It don`t have to all be tippy tappy go nowhere stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This, the club isn't a mess. It's just doesn't have leadership or ambition at the top for footballing reasons. The hyperbole amongst fans about Spurs is mind blowing.
Replace Levy and Lewis with an owner that truly loves football and we would see a difference. Sadly there aren't many owners like this. When you spend 3bn to buy an asset emotion quickly fades if the value is diminishing.

I'd rather go with facts rather than speculation.
Conte has an option for a one year extension at the end of the season. Lets see what happens then.
All the Conte Out folks always go back to loser Poch and give upteen excuses for him as to why he failed. Excuse after excuse. They always forget about the money he wasted when he finally was backed. Unreal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t rate Conte and don’t want Poch.
I don’t rate Conte without decent players and let’s face it, he’s not getting what he needs so the grim football is pointless
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we want to do better than we are, then ANY manager needs decent players. DO you think if we got Pep he'd turn this lot into Champions.
Conte needs backing, he has to a certain degree but there is clearly a need for more.
Do people ever stop to think that the addition of Porro, and next season Udogie, both very attacking wing backs will not see us take a step forward in terms of attacking threat, style of play? We are clearly after CBs who can defend and pass and have chased a Zaniolo type player for a more creative CM option. These all point to a far more threating and flexible approach, something we are not yet capable of.
So much of the ire of fans comes from our style, which is, to a large degree dictated by the squad we have. Conte himself has said he cannot play other systems with these players which is utterly true. We go 4 at the back with Romero and one of Dier Lenglet Sanchez and we will be exposed. With a 3 man midfield, who have we got for that more advanced role? The Odegard, Fernandes, KDB role between the lines?
We are a work in progress. Top 4 last season was probably slightly ahead of schedule off the back of exceptional form in the run-in and now it has raised expectations that we have a God-given right to top 4, should be challenging for the title and winning cups.
Some moan about players in the team (rightly so) and then moan about the quality of football. As Conte said at the beginning, he isn't a miracle worker, there is work to do but certainly the squad is improving.
But all i hear from so many on here is Conte out, we wont get top 4, we wont win a trophy.
I for one am looking forward to this next few months. The Champions League, the chase for top 4, the FA Cup and really excited to see what Porro in particular will bring down that right side, in tandem with Deki...its exciting and we can hope and expect for further reinforcement in the summer, perhaps to complete the squad with 2 x CBs and a AM.
Some on here sound like they cannot wait for us to fail and are very happy to predict that we will. "Supporters" of Spurs apparently, pull the other one !
Plus I found it funny that Pep singled out Kulusevski for praise. As he did with Harry, calling us the Kane team way before he starting looking to sign him. He has previous with other players using this tact also.

Kulusevski himself could refuse to join despite the contractual option. Pep singled him out for praise, not too far fetched a theory to say he could will bid in the summer. Mahrez is 31, both are lefties that play on the right and have similarities.

Would be fitting with Conte’s career of success for us to win the FA cup this year. I think the CL may just be a stretch too far.

What I don’t get is that last season we played really well and put that down to Conte. I was genuinely excited and was on board with the love in.
But then as good as we were last seaso we have been poor this season. The results have started matching the performances - like most people knew they would. You can’t ship 2 goals in a first half in most games and expect to get anything out of them. And I put quite a lot of blame on Conte for not being able to sort it out.
So I’ve got massive respect for what he did last season and equal criticism for this season - which means overall I’m not that bothered about him as coach. Add to the fact he has shown any commitment, what do I have to get on board with? I’m ambivalent to him really - I’m not going to miss him for what he’s done so far this season and last season is in the past.

@record_portugal reporting that City did try and nip in on the Porro bid on the 11th hour of deadline day.
Porro wanted to stay true to his word on Spurs though
Jack Pitt Brooke from The Athletic said something very similar yesterday about our loan deals in particular. He said loans without an obligation or option to buy are almost unheard of these days which suggests that there's a determination to bring Gil and Spence back in the summer. Given the the lack of playing time Spence had in particular, there's absolutely no way Conte would play him even if he had a brilliant half season in France. If he had any real intention of staying, they'd have taken up the many offers they had to sell him on at the earliest opportunity.
Conte is off boys. Better get used to it.
Another thing JPB said was that even if Paratici were to be gone too, it wouldn't necessarily be the disaster it appears as the infrastructure is there to cope without him. We've over doubled our recruiting department, and opened up scouts further across the country. He's put a system in place which should help us long term, even if we get a new Sporting Director in place.
I also think losing them both this summer, whilst appearing bad news, does give us an opportunity now to align the way the club operates. Levy initial club manifesto is completely at odds with the way Conte and Paratici think. Now we have an opportunity to bring in a manager and Sporting Director who sign from the same hymn sheet as Levy. We need a clear direction from top to bottom. I have no faith in Levy doing this but that's where we should be going.

He probably knew that having Walker and Lewis on that side meant he'd go back to City to sit on the bench. Loyalty doesn't come into it. Playing time does.

Whilst no one can be certain. Not that outlandish to hold the belief he will leave.
We can be certain his contract is up this summer, whilst there is an option to extend by a season. As I said above Sandy, Conte has only stayed a third year at Juve through all the different managerial roles he has had.
I'm not pretending to know more. It's just that evidence is stacking up to suggest he won't be. The first bit was sourced from a bunch of Athletic journos. I didn't just make it up. All the evidence points towards a parting of ways.

I've covered the last bit in my last post but where that leaves Kane is anyone's guess.
My hunch is that he will be fully aware that Conte is thinking of leaving, in fact he may have been told already that he's going to part ways. If his negotiating tactic regarding any new contract depends upon Conte staying, then I think we're fecked. I also think that's unhealthy anyway. We shouldn't be desperate to keep a manager because it means keeping our best player. That's the wrong way around.
I just can't see any circumstance where Conte stays. If he had any intention of signing a deal, he would have. Kane has had a good relationship with every manager that has come in. I don't think his future is tied completely to Conte although it will play a part.
This summer could be absolutely brutal of we lose best player, manager and sporting director.

I think Udogie will be explosive and Porro will add guile to the right, with end product. Both will transform the flanks imo. Can’t wait to see them, but I don’t think Conte will be here by then to utilise both.

Whilst there is an obligation, Porro is also a loan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As is Kulu
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah and the clauses of the deal change if we don’t get CL football this season apparently. Also noticed Pep bigging up his abilities. A City bid wouldn’t surprise me come May!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we don't qualify we still have an option to buy Kulu. We are only obligated if we qualify for CL. He signed a 3 and half year contract so everything is in our favour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that’s correct.
The obligation would mean other club couldn’t come sniffing. But with an option to buy it means other clubs could match our bid. And my inkling is Pep will be hovering around with Mahrez probably being phased out as Pep freshens things up. Hopefully not though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
An option means we have first option and the price has been set. Stop having a hard on for Pep 👍🏻

Kulusevski himself could refuse to join despite the contractual option. Pep singled him out for praise, not too far fetched a theory to say he could will bid in the summer. Mahrez is 31, both are lefties that play on the right and have similarities.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is EXACTLY how I feel. Spot on, you worded it better than I could!
