Certainly looked very up for it!

Was a very strong performance, really. Totally dominant first half, just short of a finish or two. In control second half until Casemiro lost his brain, then defended the lead well.

Antony wasn’t very effective, and Weghorst was quiet (although he created a couple of chances), but otherwise, it was a strong team performance.

Bruno, Martinez, Rashford, Varane, Shaw and Fred were all very good.

Bruno was just everywhere again: creating chances, making as many tackles and clearances as anyone else. No idea how his legs are still attached to his body.

And Martinez is a completely different level to most PL CBs at the moment.

I thought ETH said he was out for a week or two last week?

rosso, cheers for the review. I do worry about Bruno getting run into the ground.

ETH needs to address the sending off with the players. We will get charged for failure to control them for sure.

Antony is going to have to accept he is going to keep getting clattered as he does like to showboat a lot.

We did well to hold out in the end.

Yeah, an injury to him, Rashford or Martinez could really derail us, and all three are playing a lot of minutes at pretty high intensity.

Look, the media are gonna whip it up as some sort of catastrophe that we’ve lost Casa for 3 games. He played in the last palace game and we didnt win.
And we looked good against Arsenal for 70 mins without him until we decided to sit back.

We have good opposition in the next 3 games, where missing him shouldn’t be the overriding factor.
We got Bruno, Fred, Sabitzer, hopefully McT.
We should be ok.
But we need need to start scoring…

I’m sad that you missed just the last fifteen mins Dazza, because you’d have loved Fred’s shiiithousery. Dropping throw-ins, throwing the ball away, playing on after the whistle… Probably wasted about five mins on his own

To be honest Martinez was playing at a canter midweek and most of today.

He is making a lot of people eat humble pie.

Squad rotation was cited as a weakness of ETH’s in the Netherlands. It’s something he’s going to need to learn fast if he wants to be successful on multiple fronts.

That, or we get on the blower to Liverpool and City’s ped suppliers (Liverpool must have misplaced his number this season).
